  1. Imagine waiting weeks or longer to get in blanks only to find they are scuffed from the manufacturer? The chance of CGC stopping production till they get clean/clear blanks is probably less than zero.
  2. A cold press will do nothing for foils. A hot press will most likely ruin the cover if done by someone with little to no experience.
  3. Anything is possible. Based on what you are trying to accomplish, the dealer will come out ahead.
  4. More ink will lead to a drop in grade, so at a certain point it does have an affect.
  5. In the 8.0 area as a lot of the ink can be removed/reduced.
  6. This is what people forget to look for. Phew, slab is OK until they look at the book 😩
  7. Title says it all. Sal Buscema Hulk vs. Quasimodo Page 16 $1,800.00 plus shipping. No one on any lists. Will be packed bomb proof. No returns on art. Please ask questions up front. First gets it in the thread or via PM.
  8. Hello, What you are interpreting as a spine roll is actually an mis-wrap, pressing won’t fix that as it is the way the comic was manufactured.
  9. Are the staples secure and rust free?
  10. This. I would look at what it cost to get the book, or what it would cost to replace it. I don’t see CGC bumping you if you submit a $6-7,000 book @ $5,000 on the form. A major red flag for them is an easily recognized key worth $5,000 or more being sent in as an economy book.
  11. In the hands of the right person, the flaking can be greatly reduced.
  12. Personally, I think it a combination of a bad bindery tear that may have been handled by an inexperienced presser or was bent over and folded back at some point in the books history. May have caught the bag and dog eared a little. While not discounting an impact dent, I have worked on too many copies of this book, and realize how bad the corners can be coming from the bindery to discount it as the correct answer.
  13. It will clean up, that's for sure. Typically, in the past, a book like this would have received a generous bump. Now I fear it may be a grade or two. Still worth it for a Hulk 181.
