  1. No video. They never claimed the books weren’t sent. They just didn’t know where they were.
  2. Both. Two times it was a box that went unaccounted for, the last time was books that were entered into the system.
  3. Based on many comments here and on-line it appears CGC’s grading was harsh on the McFarlane books.
  4. Personally, I prefer to display scans of my slabs or other comic related posters. The slabs themselves are stored far away from any light sources.
  5. I have had books go missing for as long as a year. So far they have all been accounted for. Was I happy at the time? No. But out of the generosity of their heart, CGC expedited the grading when they found the books.
  6. Years ago it was rare. Today you can get 9.8’s with numerous color breaks. Or you could 8.0’s with no color breaks or creases. All depends on how new the grader is or what they did the night before.
  7. Why are you assuming it is restored? Is it just simple color loss due to aggressive dry cleaning?
  8. Sometimes, yes. Other times it’s the materials used. Either way it’s damage to the books.
  9. I’m not too happy with the grades on a few of my McFarlane books. Over-grading on a few and severe under grading on the bigger books.
  10. Canvassing is usually the result of using the wrong materials when pressing a book. I don’t see it as much as I used to, so hopefully people are getting educated on the correct materials to use when pressing a book.

    Custom Labels

Is it possible to send already graded books in just to get a custom label? Like a reholder with a custom label?
  12. Bottom line is that it’s never good to change the rules in the middle of playing the game.
  13. Every book I have bid on in the last three months has set a new GPA high. Maybe it's just me.
  14. Should be OK, assuming the person doing the work has experience with signatures.
  15. All depends on the ink/paint used. When was it originally signed?
  16. Are these the pens where the paint or ink doesn't cure all the way?
