  1. Maybe the two greatest Romita Spidey covers right off the bat! What a way to start his run
  2. That's a beauty Jeff! Congrats, doesn't get any prettier than that
  3. Great reports and photos Leader! Very enjoyable and look forward to your next one
  4. That is quite the enterprise. PGX grader goes around to comic shows and buys his comics (CGC books at that), takes them back to the garage, re-grades them (while shooing away the cats off the books), encapsulates, and then sells them on eBay under various shill accounts And explain to me again how PGX is still in business?
  5. That is so cool and what a beautiful set of Spidey villain books! Congrats on the pick-up! And Dave is the man! Also helped point me in the direction of a book I acquired and recently posted! Thanks bud and great assist
  6. And the king of all BA Spidey covers imho, Spidey #129. One of the greatest and most iconic BA covers ever (I am a little biased)! Although the following issue we get the Spider-Mobile
  7. Congrats on some beautiful books! I've always loved the bold, vibrant colors on the Spidey/Dr Strange issue. And the Man-Wolf book is a very underrated cover, really admire that one too! Here's my copy:
  8. That's what makes collecting so fun and interesting, we all have different opinions and eye appeals, and they can all be appreciated. I find Kane's sinister rendition of the Goblin on #137 very cool and visually entertaining! And don't forget his fantastic Goblin drug cover too!
  9. #137 is such a great Gil Kane and goblin cover! BA Spidey classics for sure!
  10. Congrats on your new acquisition then! Feeling fortunate to have added an early Spidey #18 while still trying to maintain a little symmetry with surrounding books. And a shout out to Dave (DST)!
  11. Really happy to have just completed a little Spidey trilogy with some great covers that I've always admired:
  12. I also recall hearing #33 being part of a large warehouse find with huge quantities of uncirculated/unread copies
  13. Beautiful #78! Love the vibrant colors on that one!
  14. After several years searching, finally completed a little Spidey trifecta I really admire:
  15. Beautiful books and congrats on the accomplishment!
  16. That sure is a gorgeous 8.0 issue SECollector! Colors are really popping and just overall beautiful eye appeal! What a classic Romita cover!
  17. Beautiful Spidey! Love the colors on that #50! Congrats on your submissions!
  18. So it looks to confirm both Hydro-Man and Molten Man are the next Spidey villains in this movie. "There is something so exciting about villains like Hydro-Man and Molten Man. That opens up such amazing visual possibilities and pose such dangerous challenges for Spider-Man that I wanted to try and find a way to re-imagine those characters that would be fun to watch and make for an interesting story.”
  19. Happened to come upon this interesting video about PGX's checkered history. Looks like Daniel may have moved the PGX headquarters from the garage to the living room now. I had known about many of their past fraudulent activities, but hadn't heard the stories of cats being shooed off your soon to be graded PGX books, and cat urine sprayed on shipping materials, while littered about the room (they start talking about it around the 48 minute mark). Probably won't find too many White page copies coming out of their headquarters Here's a link to the video if anyone's interested
  20. Thank you! I'm with you on that, giving yourself a whole grade range adds flexibility and more options with the books! And it's still a fun challenge
  21. Gorgeous books everyone and continuing to enjoy this thread! Had the nice fortune to pick up a Spidey #23 that just arrived. I've always loved this Goblin cover and feel it's right up there with Ditko's best work! Also trying to add some more symmetry to the Spidey collection:
  22. Forget about 361, if you're looking for a great Spidey investment book with lots more growth, try 238. The Hobgoblin is bound to explode soon!
