  1. That appears to have been on the plastic case. I had requested larger scans of the front cover when it was initially offered by CL, and that defect was not present when they emailed me the photos of the 8.0. But there did appear to be a bottom right corner crease.
  2. So this book has likely now been pressed for a third time! Is there a limit to how many times before the book is so flattened, it starts to damage the structure of the comic? And does the "1/6" written on the cover have the potential of getting smeared with every additional press?
  3. I'm the same way, I don't like rusty staples on a high grade book Thats one of the reasons why I always buy graders notes for slabbed books. I've had a few times where I stopped a definite purchase because of notes disclosing rust. That's extremely smart to do, especially for a high dollar book. I remember back in the day, I would call in to CGC to get grader's notes for "free" and talk to Steve Borock or Mark Haspel on the phone as they discussed all the notations and defects on a particular book. They would even tell me what the primary grader, secondary grader and final grader's individual scores were on a copy

  5. There is a small non-color breaking dent on the front cover above Spidey's right hand and a small non-color breaking bend on the back cover which is near invisible. Fortunately, no rust on the staples. I think Joey could definitely work some magic on this book, but I don't plan to ever send it in for pressing.
  6. Anyone feel this book looks nicer? There is one single very light stress mark on the spine. I can tell you it hasn't been pressed:
  7. It had a "conserved" label or something like that. That was a weird booth. A glass case with the Flash Showcase book, an Action 1 and two boxes of beat up dollar books. That guy with the scarf looked exactly] like his photo in the Overstreet guide I believe there was also a Superman #1 in the case
  8. I was actually in the restroom when they got dumped in there
  9. Unfortunately I got there very late in the afternoon but was able to meet Joey who was extremely cool, knowledgeable, and gracious with his time. Saw Al from Amazing Collectibles perusing the room and working the dealers and had a chance to say hi to Bob of Empire Collectibles. Lots of wheeling and dealing going on in the booths for sure. Thanks to Terry who is a great guy, and for putting on the show. I believe the Action #1 was a CGC 7.0 but can't remember what type of resto it had?
  10. Yeah, it's absolutely stunning!! And a #39 CGC 9.8 is available as well
  11. My appreciation for ditko art is more in the spirit of being a trailblazer whereas I see Romita as the king. Romita captured action like no other and paved the way for today's artists. I still think Romita's work is above and beyond what artists are pumping out today. Ditko had a unique style. IMO his goblin covers were among his best! Love the classics #14, 17, and 23 Although Romita wasn't too far behind. You can have this copy for a cool $27,000
  12. Closely followed by legend George Perez (how can anyone not like Perez? )
  13. IMO, the greatest comic book artist of all time. Wish he had drawn a few BA Spidey's
  14. You're more likely to buy someone's soul than their #14 in this thread! Welcome to the boards! GPA graded sales show this book has been very strong and climbing. Looking at mid-grades, last 6.5 was $1200.00 (GPA record highest price sold). Last 9.0 sold for GPA highest recorded sales price as well
  15. Congrats on some beauties! Great colors and eye appeal on those Romita covers
  16. Snipe Is there sniping software that works with CL? Or do you mean just wait until the very last seconds to manually place your bid on their website?
