  1. Feel free to show it off! I happened to see this one online and it got me wondering what others may have to share Haven't seen many SA or BA 10's though...
  2. +1 The reason I brought up the whole grading comparison is that I thought many people felt PGX's Silver Age grading was as strict as CGC's. I happened to find that PGX 4.5 for sale online and decided to compare it to my only CGC 4.5. The comparison may not have been a great one, but how did that book find it's way into a 4.5 holder?
  3. You're right And I'm really torn about this book. It's unpressed and per the grader's notes has a non-color breaking bend on the bottom edge that lowers the grade (it's visible upon close inspection). I feel it could press out to a 9.4 or possibly 9.6 but I'm reluctant to do it. I just feel like leaving it unmanipulated and unpressed, although it has so much upgrade potential. But I could change my mind down the road
  4. Let me add myself to the OCD club JP! Btw, awesome #100 Bob! Here's mine:
  5. Here's a scan of the ASM #3 back cover. There is definitely some wear and light creases on the bc that affects the grade.
  6. Hate to beat this dead horse any further, but if anyone wants to see how PGX's Silver Age grading compares to CGC, here's an example of their 4.5 in comparison to the only CGC 4.5 that I own (My scanner cut off the bottom portion of the ASM #3 but their are no tears or chips on the book).
  7. The Kirby signature was on this book's back cover. I couldn't find the image to the bc though :
  8. Hey Steve, I started a topic on their infamous Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko "signature series" book's about a year ago You may have missed it, but buyer beware:
  9. Yes, he was also a great contributor on Spidey. RIP
  10. Up for sale is my high grade ASM #301 CGC 9.6 with the classic McFarlane Spidey cover and a Silver Sable appearance who is scheduled to appear in an upcoming Silver Sable/Black Cat movie titled "Silver and Black". Here's some on the movie Silver & Black. The comic has razor sharp edges and corners, and fresh newsstand White pages! This book has never been pressed to my knowledge and has all the gorgeous eye appeal of a 9.8 copy! Priced at my cost: $139.00 plus $13.75 Priority Mail shipping. 1. No Probation or Hall of Shame buyers. 2. Payment via PayPal. 3. U.S. sales only. 4. $13.75 Priority Mail shipping. 5. All sales final for CGC books. ASM #301 CGC 9.6 White Pages $139.00
  11. I've really enjoyed putting together this small Punisher run: Vertical lines are from my scanner
  12. That may be a more interesting topic, are there actually "any" Silver Age books that went down in value in the current Overstreet?
  13. The "aluminum foil" collection. Ingenious and seems to have worked out. Had never heard of that storage method before!
  14. I think most people would agree that Marvel comics from the 60's are indeed in plentiful supply and were heavily collected by 1964. But my question is, how were these comics stored, handled, and preserved by collector's back then? There were no comic bags or comic boxes to keep your new issues in NM condition, and most newsstand copies were certainly not in NM condition off the racks to begin with. Improper storage or mishandling could easily turn a VF/NM into something much less. Did most speculator's/collector's really know how to take care of their comics back in the 60's?
