  1. I had the same questions when I started acquiring 80's comics many, many moons ago. Some put the start of copper at early 1979 with Frank Millers 1st run on Daredevil, others put it as late as 1984 with the release of TMNT #1. I only collect copper Marvel/DC as newsstands but also have a few fat diamonds from 80 & 81. After a few years acquiring 80's comics I realized that my collection made the choice. For me, copper begins with the introduction of the CPV's in Oct. 1982. If you need a specific issue then say Wolverine Limited #1 which was released in Sept. 1982. After that date, if it's Marvel or DC, then it must be a newsstand for me to be a buyer but prior, I'm o.k. with bronze fat diamond directs. Do what works for you and let everybody else argue the merits of when the copper age began for them.
  2. Well, it took almost a year but here they are, as promised: When I sent them in I thought the #233 was a 9.6 but had a decent shot at 9.8 and figured the #229 would grade 9.4 or 9.6 at best. Overall tho, I'm extremely pleased with the grading results. However, the CGC snapper heads once again overlooked the fact that both of these books are Canadian Price Variants. They even missed the Australian Price Variant Fantastic Four #347 that was in the same submission. I declared in the notes on the submission form that they were CPV's & APV and even sent them an e-mail after they were listed on the web site. No reply. Quality Control continues to be very disappointing.
  3. Just about any Wrightson DC horror cover would be worthy of consideration but I really love this cover: There is one just like it in Clinks current auction if you agree and gotta have one right now.
  4. I got a half of a ham sandwich, an ENTIRE bag of Doritos, 8 jelly beans, a black toy poodle and a girlfriend that I will trade you.............oh, never mind ......... I just can't bring myself to trade the dog.
  5. Ooops! My bad, I was thinking of the Wolverine Limited series,
  6. I think you can scratch the CPV #1 off the list. CPV's were produced from 10/82 thru 08/86.
  7. For the #87, I paid about a hundred dollars less the the last GPA sale of a 9.6 MJ in September. The #98 was listed last summer at auction on one of the comic websites but it wasn't listed as having Mark Jeweler insert. You had to look at the scan to see it had the insert and as a result I won it for the going rate of a newsstand 9.6 at the time, about $450.
  8. I believe only 1000 Silver-foil, 5000 Gold-foil and "only God knows how many" Red-foil ashcans were produced. I think @Parabellum can confirm this.
  9. There is a cgc 9.4 copy on eBay for $1499.99. However, these are the only 2 copies currently on the censes. Maybe you SHOULD buy it..........
  10. Only got this one but it's an awesome Zeck cover!
  11. No @Parabellum THANK YOU!! We both got what we wanted out of that trade although had you told me, I never would have believed that I would trade the Aliens mini comic. I purchased the print set from my LCS in 1989 an straight into storage they went. When I pulled them out 20+ years later, the mini comic slid out from between the prints. I didn't even remember it being in there. I've had a eye out 8+ years for this book and its amazing to me how few I have seen in 9.6/9.8. You took a page from The Godfather and "made me an offer I couldn't refuse".
  12. Thank You. I found the cgc 9.6 Daredevil #196 CPV on a comic website for $66! The cgc 9.6 Thor #337 CPV I scored for almost exactly what the 9.2 CPV sold for on CLINK.
  13. Yeah, I was 2nd highest bidder on the Daredevil #227. I did manage to recently acquire these elsewhere tho:
