  1. Well, I am participating in this contest to learn about grading. I assumed falsely that a big cut-out was an automatic 0.5. To be sure I check the census and saw one book at 0.5 and two at 3.0. So I gave it a 0.5. So I am responsible for my own demise.
  2. I agree I give it a 8.5. Mike, It would be great if you gave the certification number so we could check the grader note.
  3. Rex Dexter of Mars #1 : 0.5 Lawbreakers Suspense Stories #11 : 8.5 Action Comics #242 : 6.0 Scooby Doo #1 : 7.5 Amazing Spider-Man #300 : 9.0 I thought that a large piece missing = 0.5.

  10. I did make a claim to CGC for a 9.8. The comic inside was damaged when I received it at home. And they accepted it. They refund me $950. And I am not a costumer that sent thousands of books a year. If you are polite and explain your case with good arguments, CGC will make sure that you are a satisfied customer, like many other companies. They have insurance and they just want to be sure they are dealing with an honest person. Another time the case was severely scratch when I received it. It was rehold without any cost for me.
  11. Why doesn't he make a claim to CGC? That would be the honest thing to do.
  12. 1. Kay Challis - Crazy Jane 2. Sandman Both were created in 1989, but they are 1990 icons in my book. 3.Elijah Snow
  13. What CGC will do in a case like this? Imagine a Hulk 181 with the cover of ASM 138...
  14. The long scratch at the bottom of the cover is killing it, but by how much? 7.0? Thanks for your time
  15. In 1942 you could buy 100 Golden Age comics for $1.95. May 7, 1942. Billboard Magazine (USA) https://ohdannyboy.blogspot.com/2021/05/you-dont-get-deals-like-that-anymore.html
  16. As far as I know, this is a manufacturing problem. I bought all books when they were released in 1989. They were kept in the same box in a dark and dry place since the beginning all three side by side.
  17. Thanks for the info! A mistake from my part, Megaton #5 was buried in the deepest recesses of my brain. Megaton 5 : June 86 Boris the Bear 6 : January 87 WildMan 1 and Ramm 1 : May 87 Megaton Explosion 1 : June 87 An oversight on their part.
  18. At the suggestion of another member, I post my question in this forum. Assuming that this comic (first one on the left) is a 9.8, at which grade would it be downgraded if the only obvious defect are the wavy interior pages? The cover and back cover don’t have this problem. The comics are The Hobbit 1, 2 and 3. The last two issues opened more easily than the first one. The pages do not stick together, though. I understand that pressing it will remove the problem but let said that I don’t plan to press it. Thanks in advance for your time.
