  1. I understand... The case seems thicker than the previous and more recent ones. The right and left side of the case are not perfectly sealed. The four corners are. The label is not flat but curved.
  2. How do CGC cases from 2008 look like? I bought a few slabbed comics graded in 2008 and they look strange.
  3. Thanks for the quick reply, Jennifer!
  4. There is an additional $20 fee that applies for CCS pressing when we submit comics for signing. If I understand correctly, this is a pressing and not a Quickpress, right? Thanks
  5. I agree that my grades are excellent. 99 % of my comics were read only once and some of them never (bought 2-3 copies of some). The goal of my story was to show that I selectively purchased my Spider-Man unlike Captain America and I obtained somewhat lower grades with Spidey. Even worse, my ASM were bagged and boarded while my Captain America were only bagged. So I now have the first apparition of Crossbone with a 9,8 but a lower grade for 1st Venom...
  6. Thanks for your answer, Greggy. I was charged $90 instead of $60 (I sent less 10 comics in May). I wish I would have been notified about that when I filled the submission form. Of course, CGC has a right to change the price, but a client should be able to trust the amount written on the submission and on the website.
  7. It is not because of the GST. I was charged more for return shipping.
  8. Nope... But I will give more details. I'd like to know how much Canadian customers were charged for the return shipping fees. If the order was placed in the past weeks. Please reply by a private message. Thanks
  9. I have a similar background as you. I sent over 50 comics to CGC in the past months. The funniest thing is that I carefully choose my Spider-Man comics at my LCS since I am a big fan. So I sent a few like ASM #300, ASM #252, MTU #141 and SW #8. They all came back with a 9.4. I also sent a few Thor (4), Captain America (4) and Spawn (2). I was less serious with my selection when I bought them. But guess what? Two were rated 9.8, five 9.6, one 9.4 and the last two 9.2. Funny, isn’t? I am not complaining. Overall, I am satisfied by the grade. I understand that grading is subjective. It is like wine tasting! And also, I want to keep my modern Spidey, but sell the others. I am a long time collector, but my interest for slabbing comics is fairly recent. The grading game is not the same as in the eighties. However, I learned a lot since I submit books to CGC and compare the results afterwards.
  10. Hello, I am from Canada myself and I would like to know if some other Canadian customers placed an order with CGC in the past weeks. If so, would you please send me a private message, I have a few questions about your recent experience. I am keeping this private for now while I discuss this with a few fellow citizens. Thanks,
  11. Good Jennifer, Thanks for your answer. I was presently writing an email with all the details. Do you want me to send it to service@... or submissions@... or directly to you?
  12. I sent less than 10 comics for grading and the return shipping fees was $90 instead of $60 (according to the table below). https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/5798/ I called the accounts department and they told me the fees are correct at $90. Would you please update the table? In the meantime, would you confirm the return shipping fees for Canada (Quebec) for : 1-10 comics 10-20 comics 20-25 comics. I am on my way to send you another submission and would like to optimize the return shipping.
  13. Perfect! Thanks for the fast reply.
  14. I wish to submit a few comics to the Frank Miller signing. Can I include in the box other comics that I want to have graded but not signed?
  15. First time , I heard this term (if I remember well). I googled it and found a previous thread on the subject which I found useful. Thanks to all for tour answers.
  16. How do you call this kind of defect (I drawed a circle around it)? I want to be sure of the right english term. I am confuse between stress line, cover crease, spine crease, stress mark, etc. BTW, my mother language is french. Sorry to ask for something obvious for most of you. Thanks for your time
  17. A midgrade of ASM 14, the only Silver Age Green Goblin appearance that I miss in my collection
  18. Thank you all for your comments. I voluntarily overestimated a bit my grade. I want to check if my grade will influence your own opinion. I thank you for your thoroughness I put this comic on eBay before I posted my message here. In my listing, I graded as a 5.5. Sorry for the typo in my initial post.
  19. How come nobody has mentionned the Slug, yet?
  20. I am from Quebec City. From my experience, When the point of entry in Canada is Toronto, I paid only GST. When the point of entry in Canada is Montreal, I paid GST + QST. On some purchases, I didn’t pay any tax even if the order was over $ 100.
  21. I found this comic really beautiful. Unfortunately the bottom left corner has a major defects. Does a score of 6.5 or 7 too high? Thanks for your time,
  22. I will only send three comics : ASM #300, Spawn #1 and ... Hulk 345! Why this issue of Hulk? It's the last and complete McFarlane issue (Hulk). But most of all, it is one it is my most favorite comics of all time The last panels are memorable! Thirty years later, I am still shivering... The leader detonates the bomb prematurely and then : BOOM!!
  23. Sorry to show so graphically my lusty side Worst : Best:
  24. Do'h! My favorite Ditko cover... https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-23-Marvel-Comics-Silver-Age/372845530467
  25. I recently bought a Premium Membership. I am in the process to send my first submission. to CGC. I choose Fedex as the returns method since I am from Canada. However, the ground shipping insurance value is $100 max per package. What are my options if I send for $1000 of comic books value? I have no problem to buy a $1000 Insurance to send the comics to CGC, but what about the insurance to return the comics to me? Anyone else from Canada with a suggestion? Thanks
