  1. Agree with the others, 9.6 The bottom left corner on the front cover will probably keep you away from a 9.8
  2. Me again with the same type of question as before but with a different default. So assuming that this comic (first one on the left) is a 9.8, at which grade would it be downgraded if the only obvious defect are the wavy interior pages? The cover and back cover don’t have this problem. The comics are The Hobbit 1, 2 and 3. The last two issues opened more easily than the first one. The pages do not stick together, though. I understand that pressing it will remove the problem but let said that I don’t plan to press it. Thanks in advance for your time.
  3. Will do. Thanks for the quick reply.
  4. I recently sent a copy of New Mutants Annual 2 to a third party for pressing. This company sends my comics to you for grading and ships them back to me. This copy of New Mutants was graded 9.8 by CGC. However, I recently noticed that there is a crease on the spine (see the above picture). I believe that the comic was damaged during encapsulation. The plastic clip has dug into the comic. I don’t see how else this kind of damage could have happened. If the crease had been there before encapsulation, it would certainly have been spotted by the grader and the book would have not been evaluated at 9.8. Shipping and time cannot be responsible for this kind of damage, since the comic is usually well protected and cannot move in its case. Now that I know that there is a crease, it would be dishonest for me to sell this comic as a 9.8. I’m looking for a way to resolve this matter. Can you please tell me who should get in touch with you, me or the professional who presses the comics? Which of us needs to make the claim and return the book to you in order to receive the compensation for value lost? Thank you in advance for your help.
  5. True, but I dont think that a few light reading bends would fall below 8.5
  6. I think so to. I have a MTU 141 graded 8.5 by CGC because of a 2 inches crease and it was the only defect. Based on that grade, my guess is that a larger bend with no color break would not fall below 9.0
  7. 9.4. I will be surprise if you get a 9.6. The comic have two abraded corner and a light spine break that break color (middle back cover).
  8. There is lot of scratching on the back cover. 8.5 from my experience
  9. 9.0 or 9.2. Not sure a pressing will give a better grade because of spine stress that breaks colour. It is a bit large for a 9.4 isn't?
  10. 8.5 as i. Probably 9.2 if you press it, not sure for 9.4.
  11. 9.4 even 9.6. You will not get a 9.8 even if you press it because of the spine stress that break color near the lower left corner.
  12. I'd like to know how much this defect can affect the grade of a comic. So assuming that this comic is a 9.8, at which grade would it be downgraded if the only obvious defect is this large stacking bend. I understand that pressing it will remove the problem but let said that I don’t plan to press it. Thanks in advance for your time.
  13. How do you compare grading standards between now and then? Stricter before or not?
  14. From my opinion, this comic is 9.2 on a bad day or 9.4 on a good day. The most obvious defect is on the front bottom left corner. I don’t think a pressing will correct this. A pressing might help the corner on the back bottom left corner (back cover in front of you), but I am not sure the picture is a little blurry. However it might help if you received a 9.2. I will be surprised if you can get a 9.6 with this comic.
  15. Is this a fold or an effect of the light? I don't see it on the first picture.
  16. Thanks to all for your input. I was around 8.0 myself and from my point of view pressing it will not give this comic a 9.0 or better grade.
  17. I'd like to know how much one obvious defect can affect the grade of a comic. So assuming that this comic is a 9.8, at which grade would it be downgraded if the only obvious defect is a crushed corner like the one above. Kudos to anyone who can tell what comic it is. Thanks in advance for your time
  18. Thanks in advance for your input on this low grade ASM 124.
