  1. What do the boards mean to me? Tons. When I signed up in 2006, I had only just heard about the place and that I might be interested to check it out. At the time, my main focus was DC war and that was pretty much it. Marc, aka HouseOfComics.com sent me over to the Silver Age section of the boards, to the War Comics thread. That place was heaven for me. I met a ton of people who I like to call my friends and we shared books, thoughts, jokes, and contests with each other for years. To be honest, I had never joined a forum before so I never had any online "friends". But after joining the boards, and making my way out to my first US convention in Chicago in 2008, I got to meet a great group of guys that I hit it off with immediately. What a memorable trip. Because it was so much fun, I went out again the following year. Now, my favorite hot spot is Calgary. These Edmonton/Calgary/Vancouver boys are a truly great group of guys. Toss in a joeypost and you've got yourself a party. I also cannot forget the incredible fun that I had with the UK group, a couple of years back. So, in regard to the benefits of these forums, we have the ability to learn from some of the best people in comics, a great place to buy and sell books, probably the single-best place to read the latest news in comicdom, read about other conventions across the continent and across the globe, being able to participate in gift exchanges, raffles, grading competitions, and seemingly endless amounts of entertaining moments and threads, we also have the opportunities to make very good friends for life. The boards are terrific, in every sense of the word.
