  1. A "gentleman" only bids in hundred dollar bill increments. Absurd to be upset for longer than 35 seconds.
  2. That's likely what bcc was thinking, yes. Just a poor choice in wording for a buyer who was apparently on the edge of not doing this deal.
  3. A few things: Yes, the LMK line most certainly seemed like asking if he wanted to back out of this deal, and actually, very likely might be the reason we're discussing this right now. The buyer actually agreed to paying no more than $480-490 ($450 plus $50-60, less $20). It didn't make sense for the seller to come at him for $3 more than what he quoted, just because he didn't want to eat another 3 extra dollars. That, and his LMK wording, basically allowed this to fall apart. Xela could have still taken a cheaper shipping option, I know I would have. And he could have been paying $11 for shipping instead of $43. So, he's still a righteous noob for not following through with his commitment to buy these books. Going forward, bcc should also be careful of his wording. After a deal is struck, no more "Let me know if that is what you want to do" lines. Also, no more don't tell the guy $30-40 for shipping and then ask for $43. -Andy
  4. Likely bcc just want to be reassured that he was right and Xela was wrong. If it were me in bcc' shoes, that would be enough. There's no real purpose to persue this further, since they buyer doesn't want the books and the seller no longer wants to sell to him. In the end, the call is bcc's, but there's not much point to push this any further.
  5. Shipping "could be" $50-60, but I'll pay $20 of that. Okay, I'll take it. Shipping is $63, or $53, or $31. Your cost is either $43, $33, or $11. Your choice. I'll pass. That's EXTORTIONATE! Oh, and I'm an arse and a noob, and you've hurt my feelings! Laugh out loud!
  6. The buyer was told $450 plus shipping. Shipping would be $50-60 and seller would pay $20 of that. Buyer said I'll take it. You don't see that as a deal in place?
  7. The black and white Luke's are selling for 200-300$ now.
  8. R2D2 is the variant for Star Wars 6 Looks nice!
  9. You will just have to wait and see.....
  10. We're about 2 months away from the new Overstreet, and the new Overstreet means the new War Report.
  11. If what I say offends you to the point that you need to be dismissive and disrespectful, darkstar, though I have done nothing to you personally, why not just put me on ignore? Is the extra hostility needed? What I wrote doesn't need a lengthy back and forth discussion is all. I make liberal use of the ignore function but I see no reason to put you on it. The above blah blah blah was not meant to be taken as hostile, only as comedic relief. And my two cents graemlin was meant as my 2 cents worth, and not to be confused with me offering readers 2 cents each.

  13. Now THAT'S a wasp! And yes, they have one of the worst stings in the world- I've never been nailed by one, but that's because I know better! That's probably Pepsis or Hemipepsis- the real deal. I do get asked questions about termites and fleas and imaginary insects inhabiting people's skin (delusional parasitosis is not just an urban legend!), but I prefer to go after little brown beetles and such. Matter of fact, I'm heading to Guatemala soon for a three week "vacation"- collecting jungle bugs (and drinking rum). I only started this conversation now because I've been sitting on these books for a while and will need some pocket money for later in the summer... cheers, tbg It puts the lotion in the basket...
