  1. So, anyone here win books from the Mound City auction? I won 9 total. Spent a pretty good buck, but there were many others spending much more. Andy
  2. This one just seems disturbing - I just keep imagining Harley Yee is under that table "doing stuff" to the guys. You just keep thinking that. (thumbs u
  3. Wow, Flee, this was great!!! I didn't even notice the eyes watching Roy. Great, great stuff! Andy
  4. No, they aren't to me. However, I see that they are to the folks that have posted about 1000 times in this thread talking about that could be taken to PM. Andy Yep, it's almost as bad as the biggest auction thread ever being run in Comics General. Agreed.

  6. Yes, I was the high bidder on that lot. The earliest books were actually the best of the lot, with solid OW pages. The later issues were closer to crm-ow, so it seemed to be a combination from two different collections merged at some point (or at least two different sources). I had really expected the books to be shakier than they were, but they were very nice copies overall, with a couple of obvious exceptions (such as the badly inserted centerfold). Anytime a book is photographed/scanned in mylar on Ebay, I expect it to look 10x better in the scan than in person, and generally bid accordingly; for the most part, these looked just as nice when I got them (which was a very pleasant surprise for Ebay) as they did in the auction scans. All needed to be bagged/reboarded before being reinserted in the mylars, but they are very nice looking books and very flat. I also picked up a lot of Sgt. Fury's and Captain Storm from the same seller, all of the books exceeding my expectations. They were an excellent value overall, I can't complain! Great news and I'm glad it worked out well for you. (thumbs u Andy
  7. Those are really great, Jeffro! Nice to see you picking up some deals! Andy
  8. Some of them do look nice. They are not without faults though. Andy
  9. I have to finish my Sgt. Fury run one of these days. Getting close, perhaps 20 away....
  10. You must have a fantastic collection now, Richard. (thumbs u Andy
  11. I'm more a fan of the earlier books than the bronze ones, but they really are all good. (thumbs u Andy
  12. Large amounts of money can do that to us.
  13. Nice pick-ups, Dmac! Sweet books you've just sold there, Tim. (thumbs u Andy
  14. Aww...it was nothin. Now with that last post by Mike, I'm going to pimp my own wares just for a second. I've got some books on CLink ending in 3 or 4 days and the prices so far are terrible. If they sell this low, I sure hope they go to you guys and not someone who I don't know. If there's any that you can use, or would like, put some bids in. It's looking like they won't cost you much at all. Here's a list of the war books that I've got up right now with their current prices: BRAVE AND THE BOLD #52, CGC 6.5 FN+ $1 G.I. 15. It really is a good time to be snatching books up off of eBay right now. I just saw an OAAW #2 in VG to VG/F go for $45. I think I paid $105 for my G-. Andy
