I asked the seller for more info or a clear photo of the slabbed Action Comics #1. You know, the unmentioned presence of a $3 million dollar comic is going to raise questions. That was 24 hours ago and haven't heard back.

Those all ended months ago, which is why they no longer show up. A shame, I would have liked to investigate this a bit!

It actually makes sense to have the $ sign after the number, because that's how you say it -- 100 dollars. In fact every other measurement symbol comes after the number (such as 20° and 50km) so I'm all for it! AND I'm old!

It's a very random collection. Then again, so is mine. Maybe the guy inherited it all from more than one source, a couple of different uncles? It seems like a really odd collection to be scamming people with, I think the guy might be legit, just very naive.

Kav meant he wishes that Marvel would take action to stop the guy who's counterfeiting their comics. I wish Marvel was publishing exact reprints, that were clearly marked as such in the indicia.

What this tells us is that the price needs to come down to the point where they DO sell. Will that happen? I think Tom101 was saying this book was not a good buy, as there are boxes of them around.

No idea why someone would pay $100 for that.

That Spidey isn't as bad as the Spawn by any means. It's not bulging or misshapen, more like slight wear with minor colour loss.

I knew he must be using scans, which are generally acessible online for pretty much everything. The Silver Age scans I've seen are not hi-res however, and I'm sure a side-by-side comparison would reveal his replicas to be noticeably inferior. Microfiche looks like garbage, crazy he would use that as a source.

Yeah, I would only be a player on these if I could inspect them in person. I live in Australia, so that's not going to happen. If anyone who lives nearby is interested, I'd suggest asking the guy if you can check them out -- and will pay very well if you like them,

It looks like some of them are poorly trimmed, with white space at the top or bottom. And I guess the fact that they look (and are) brand new should be a red flag. But I suspect these are going to fool a LOT of non-experts in the near future.

Yes, those replicas aka counterfeits are going to play havoc with the market. I can't believe how blatant that guy is in selling them on eBay.

OK, here are the Hulk pix the guys sent me overnight. He says he got a family member to take them. The only interiors shots provided are from #1. There's some light staining at the top of the pages if that gives anyone comfort!
