  1. Maybe DC was simply put off by all the McCarthy era witch hunting?

Maybe it was because the kids of WW II vets were reading comics and wanted stories about what their dads did during the War?

    Or not. (shrug)

  2. That is a great book, one of my favorites. First Losers, The Haunted Tank was still the M-3 Stuart, and Russ Heath art.

Roy, you jumping into War books now, too?

No. War never caught my fancy. I just picked it up because I thought it was a good buy. It's about a 9.0 or so.

(thumbs u Too bad, there's a lot of great stuff in the genre but then again, so many books, so little time.

  3. I agree, absolutely you can. Now, I am not in the same class with some of the heavy hitters here, but I've picked up numerous nice, although common, books from board members like October in recent months. You can accumulate a very nice collection of raw books, they're definitely out there.

As long as you don't need the highest graded copy ( not that there's anything wrong with that:) ) you can find perfectly presentable copies of most books easily, key s and the rare books being an obvious exception, but that goes for any genre.

These books may not knock anyone's socks off but, boy they make me happy!

I'm very pleased with the books I've been finding recently and hope to keep finding them.
