Maybe it was because the kids of WW II vets were reading comics and wanted stories about what their dads did during the War?

Nice copies, it's always great to see a little Fury love in here.

Another addition thanks to October. Books from this era really make me happy. A great Heath Rock story backed up by a cool Glanzman USS Stevens story.

Thanks to October, I have added another beautiful book to my collection! Beers, and Rollerball Girls and comics...sweet night.

Very nice set indeed! I've had the worst time, over the years, trying to find nice copies of 45 and 46. I probably just haven't been looking hard enough, but those look great.

Not exactly high grade, but I was still surprised I won this for only $26. Couldn't see any major flaws on the front, hopefully it will have nice eye-appeal.

If we're gonna limit this to Kubert and the Bronze age, I'd submit this cover as a dramatic depiction of American soldiers in combat, or it's aftermath in this case.

You may want to make a similar post in the Silver age war thread as well.

No. War never caught my fancy. I just picked it up because I thought it was a good buy. It's about a 9.0 or so.

I agree, absolutely you can. Now, I am not in the same class with some of the heavy hitters here, but I've picked up numerous nice, although common, books from board members like October in recent months.You can accumulate a very nice collection of raw books, they're definitely out there.

As long as you don't need the highest graded copy ( not that there's anything wrong with that:) ) you can find perfectly presentable copies of most books easily, key s and the rare books being an obvious exception, but that goes for any genre.

These books may not knock anyone's socks off but, boy they make me happy!

I'm very pleased with the books I've been finding recently and hope to keep finding them.
