  1. 5.5/6.0 depending on if it got pressed. The soiling on the back might be what knocks it down a notch.
  2. 3.5±0.5, to me this looks no worse than the lower grade books I kept coming in too low on. I'd like to see an expert cleaning to see if the back can be improved
  3. 6.0/6.5 I'm giving it a bump & leaning to high b/c this book almost always seems to come back higher than board predictions.
  4. 6.5/7.0. I can't quite get to 7.5, but maybe. Those black covers just shine a spotlight on ever stress line so it may present as lower than it would grade. Wouldn't bet on it, but not impossible
  5. Maybe one little stress line. Probably not a 9.8, but >9.2. It definitely has the value necessary to grade it & I generally like the idea of preserving the comics that were targeted to younger audiences. I don't think it's quite at the level of a Spidey Super Stories or Super Friends b/c more collectors were bagging more of these contemporaneously, but still, I suspect a bunch got read to tatters.
  6. The little creases on both outer corners pegs this around 9.0. The bindrey tear shouldn't matter much if that's where the crease defects have it land.
  7. Looks like some of the surface gloss was lifted. Maybe some moisture that contacted but was quickly wiped off before more damage could happen. To me, that doesn't seem like it will matter much b/c of the creasing, worn/rounded corners and light tanning of the paper. 6.5/7.0, leaning lower end, but I definitely might be unduly harsh on this one.
  8. so the rule of thumb is a color-breaking scratch that is just damage to the ink is treated like a crease, but not as severely. This one is quite long & unsightly IMO. If it was a crease that long, I'd think 6.0 is generous. Maybe this get to 7.0
  9. Could be printer tears. The greater the number and length/cumulative length, the lower the grade. 8.0-9.8 is the stated guide range. I'd guess this lands around 8.5 b/c they are quite short, but still there are 3.
  10. 8.0/8.5, but always possible to be a 7.5. This kind of falls under my personal category of "buy it graded" unless it's this specific copy that's special somehow. A 9.6 looks like FMV around $130, so just the regular cost of grading puts you well into the price of a guaranteed better slab.
  11. lots of shadow in your photos. Also looks like the photos crop off some of the edges. Seems like a lot of pressable bendiness, but what looks like some moderate foxing on the bottom of the back is likely to be the level-setter. Need some better photos, and also some inside cover/page shots given the nature of the foxing. The more extensive it is. the lower it might go.
  12. It *should* preclude getting a 9.8, but one never knows. I'll second the notion that guessing higher grades is tough from photos. >9.2
  13. As is, I would list it at 8.0/8.5. May clean & press better. Looks like a printer's crease on the back cover
  14. Had this out tonight & had forgotten it's one of the nicer books in my SA Thor run. The Galactus issues were a huge reason I bought the full run in the first place. There's some very mild chipping along the top edge. A few lighter spine stress lines and the bottom spine corner is slightly dinged. There's also a small vein below the H in THOR. Not particularly easy to see if you're not looking really close.
  15. 3.0/3.5. Leaning lower b/c the back especially is pretty rough with stains and piece out. Maybe a 2.5, but a proper clean can probably at least make this look a little nicer even though the stains aren't going anywhere
