  1. Here's my closest comp. You can only see a little on the front. If one reads the notes, I think there was some tanning that actually impacted the grade more since this was deemed moderate spray.
  2. Fun book. The CGC guide says stickers on cover are valid for grades between 8.0-9.4. Since this is small & on the BC, I don't think it factors into the grade at all. Universal label, I also doubt it will be noted on the label (if you can see something like this, they're not likely to make a note). Absent better photos, around 9.0 maybe better if the roll is pressed out.
  3. I could see a 2.5 b/c the staining on the front is limited, but stains kill...
  4. Agree. Scuffing along the back spine doesn't help either. The way this book grades sometimes, I wouldn't be surprised if this actually landed at 7.5/8.0. 9.0 is an optimistic outcome IMO
  5. The lighter pictures are much better. 7.0/7.5. Definitely some shadow in the BC. Can't tell if the staples are discolored.
  6. I'm getting a few more back "soon". I never posted them on PGM, so watch for my Gallery uploads or on the top signature thread!
  7. While I'm updating, it looks like this is the only other book I've previously posted that has been submitted since. Had Bobby's Retro World take a few things to Heroes, and he took this one to Mr. Rosa. Apparently, he also "fixed" something in the art on the printed signature that was cut off in the production process.
  8. Came in on the low end after the spine roll was pressed out. Apparently, there's a stain somewhere I haven't found yet that likely torpedoed any chance at 5.5/6.0. The grade here is secondary to having Frank's first work signed, especially since the GKs aren't so plentiful.
  9. Minor disappointment, but only the number not the book. Interestingly, the notes don't mention the ink transfer or the stamp on the reverse. The light wear got dinged a little harder than I would have guessed.
  10. Thought this one might come in as high as 8.0, but not really the point. The Mexican edition (6 months later) of Chamber of Darkness 4 with the barbarian prototype for Conan. Note, the discoloration on the title is an ink transfer from the comic packed next to it. There is a store/distribution stamp on the back cover that was presumably on the entire shipment. CGC book sets the limit of that at 8.0.
  11. Around 6.5. "Viable" depends on what you want. A $300-400 book in this condition. My guess for selling, you wouldn't make extra $ for grading, but you wouldn't lose anything either. For collecting, that's a personal decision. Whatever your metric for investing for grading vs. the value of the book. For me, that starts with whether the book has some importance (which could be universal or personal). Then, if it's a mid- to upper-mid grade book like this, I'd like to see the cost of grading to top out around 20% of the FMV. Your thresholds may differ, there's not a wrong answer here (although I do see way too many people trying to sell lower grade CGC books for way more than they're worth, presumably to earn back their grading fees).
  12. Maybe 7.0 cleaned since there's a little discount on square bounds for some of the wear like the tiny amount of splitting. A regular 2-staple book is more like 5.5/6.0 in this condition.
  13. too much shadow & foxing? on the back to go about 9.0
  14. 4.0/4.5. Count the pages to make sure you have the right number.
