  1. Mostly posting this one for fans of this book, which has a Roy Thomas Conan prototype story, because I believe the CGC guide is pretty clear on what the grade would be here. The back has a distribution PROMOCION stamp & there's an ink transfer from the same stamp on the front from being stack with another copy of the book with the same stamp. Interested to see if people's analysis matches what CGC's says it should be though.
  2. Given that even a barely noticeable stain, or one on the back cover can lower a grade below 8.0, I'd call this a win. I see things that could be stains on the cover, but I would not bet on picking them one from photos. Once they're in the slab it's harder still. Magnifier plus a raking light might show something small on the raw book.
  3. 9.0/9.2 if the corner bend is pressed out. White covers hard to judge in photos
  4. I had to think hard, but I remembered the kind of fold-in graphics in these (we weren't allowed to have MADs, so...). I would max it out at a CGC 6.0 unless they have a policy where these built-in defect creators on a back cover are looked at differently. Certainly no better than a 6.5
  5. 8.0/8.5 the one small color breaking corner crease likely precludes reaching NM. This short run of WiH is way underappreciated.
  6. Hard to grade b/c there aren't a lot of comps. If you call the missing piece a spine split the starting ceiling might be around 9.0. If it was a bindery tear a few grades higher. IDK if these newsletters can have bindery tears b/c I assume they were produced differently than comics. Add a small tear & you're looking at 8ish in a comic, but who knows with something like this.
  7. 2.5/3.0 assuming it's complete & not missing large pieces
  8. please click on the USAGE GUIDELINES at the top of the forum
  9. 4.0. cleaning might take of a couple little spots that look like surface grime, but a lot looks like tanning/foxing that's not going anywhere. The creasing all looks fairly heavy so only minor improvements in how flat the surface would appear. The potential grade here does not suggest any real ROI on putting money into c/p.
  10. maybe not #1, but definitely top 10 this week. A VF beauty of a WWBN #1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/305313822748
