  1. 8.5/9.0. Looks like a tiny tear on the TLBC. Some soiling or something along the spine on the back
  2. 8.5ish. Looks like some minor tearing around the top staple
  3. Pretty spot on boys. I felt like I made Louise's day handing her this. Her "line" was a lot shorter than Walt's. I was able to just jump over to her while waiting for my other Simonson signature. She claimed not to have seen a copy in 50 years. Maybe a slight exaggeration, nevertheless, not something she'd been asked to sign for a long time.
  4. A 9.0 with no Grader Notes. Thanks CGC. Makes it hard to learn. This was one of the fanzines I wasn't convinced they would grade b/c it was obscure and not much data available about its provenance, so I'm glad regardless. Got this signed in person too. Walt started to sign it on the inside but I was able to get that fixed. I wouldn't have minded the signature being bigger and/or in something other than black. He was splitting his time doing sketch for people, and prioritizing the sketches. He was doing them for donations to the Heroes Initiative, so he was very busy b/c the ask was not much. I definitely put more in the jar than the suggestion of $2 or whatever they were asking for.
  5. Apparently some staple rust I didn't take note of. Can't really complain. Al was super nice. Was good to meet him. Got another book sketched that turned out really nice.
  6. I think Starlin was trying to save on signing ink on this one {squints}. The signature is in the bottom corner of the top right pie piece of the peace sign. Very happy. Only a Universal and a SS 9.6 are better copies in census. Only the 2nd SS copy on the census.
  7. People were close on this one. Reading the tea leaves, I think the darkening of the paper was the tipping point to 7.5. Having a Roy Thomas first signed was the goal here, so no complaints.
  8. Kind of think they didn't know exactly what to do with this either. Notes indicate a fingerprint, which I can't find. It's just non-glossy cardstock, so not the kind of surface one typically gets nasty little prints in. Quite satisfied though. Haven't seen very many of these kicking around. Did the signing with Starlin myself and he hadn't seen one in quite a while. First on the census and unfortunately CGC didn't note that the internal art is Starlin.
  9. Well, I guess the actual grade is a letdown, but I can't say I'm disappointed with the result. This was always a "vanity" submission b/c I though this was a cool reimagining of the Marvel Premiere cover, and Gil Kane is no longer with us. I guess the best efforts of pressing could get rid of the corner crunch b/c you can still see it. TBH, I think this was graded harshly as 7.0 is the lowest end for a crunch in the guide. It's kind of academic b/c I don't see anyone beating down my door to give me big bucks for this no matter what the grade (if I was selling, which I am not).
  10. Very happy with this. Roy's signature did help to hide some of the ink transfer.
  11. Since this was one of my earliest PGMs, I'll provide some new before photos with the grade reveal
  12. 4.5, maybe 5.0 pressed. Pressing isn't magic. I doubt the subscription crease can be removed completely.
  13. The discoloration probably knocks this down from VF/NM/NM- to 7.5/8.0. I feel the lower b/c of hos they seem to be treating this type of defect now.
  14. 5.0/5.5. Looks better, but I think the discoloration on the back will limit the grade
  15. Same as a tear. Max 4.0 for a slice/tear that long
  16. "small multiple bend" is the only potential pressable defect. I believe that is a defect that is inconsequential to the given grade
