  1. Hmmm...Nice to now look at pics of your books.  Unfortunately, it seems according to the pics some of the labels have been switched on one of my magazine submissions that's been shipped.
Like this book as an example. There are a few more where the labels have been switched.   I will have to return the books and get the correct labels put on.

Thanks Randall (thumbsu Yeah, it's in my Top 5 or close to it. My problem is I'll think of my Top 5 Adams covers, think I have a good list, and then realize I haven't even thought of his DC Covers yet lol Between X-Men 56, 58, Avengers 96, Fear #11 and a couple Marvel Mags I can't even make room for things like Batman 251 or his best HOM's. Or his Weird War Tales Golem Cover. It's very similar to naming my favorite Beatles tunes.

Oh  yes!!!, the Beatles and Fear #11!!!

That's me this year...given how SDCC doesn't empty any main rooms like NYCC, I wasn't planning on hitting most of the major panels that backed out anyway, but just making the most of it. Never planning to do it again, so just going to enjoy what there is to enjoy.

I hope you have a great time there and get what you came for.  Enjoy!!!

  4. I would love to go to SDCC "one" time just to experience it and soak it all in.   Just getting tickets is hard and then like other posts have mentioned, the cost of getting there, hotel, food and transportation is expensive.
Maybe I will just plan to go a few years from now and just save up and try to get tickets somehow and make it happen.....Just so expensive to attend....for me anyway.

That happened to me yesterday as well and I posted as much here (thumbsu

Today it "does" show "shipped", but was only 9.6 and I feel like:

to go from GEI to qc finalized, to qc control and back to GEI, to only have it show as all the way shipped and with no explanation?

That's the way mine went. It would seem if "something went wrong" I should know about it, but then again, when I called, they just said sometime the online on my end is whacky doh!(shrug)???

    MMnnkay!

Thanks for your explanation.  Most puzzling.  Online issues it seems.  I'll check back periodically.

Marked as shipped 6/28/23..WOW!  Super fast for this submission.

I did drop this submission off at the "Fan Days Expo" in Dallas on Friday 6/9/23.  Took a little while to get the submission entered to mark as received but after that it was a rocket ship to the grading planet!!

Looks like a phone call is needed.  My submission that was marked "Shipped" and I received the "CGC Shipping Summary" email is now back in G/E/I.   Strange.  I'll call them later on.

Wow!  From taking about a year to get to the G/E/I stage a while back...Now the books are moving along pretty darn fast...at least for this submission.

    Regular Economy 14 books

    Received: 6/22/23

G/E/I: 6/25/23 (maybe sooner as I just checked today)..

    Who needs Fast track...LOL!

I just re-upped my GPA subscription a few days ago to check the price on a book I was buying and - wow - I happened to be looking at some WWBN (marvel Spotlight 2, specifically) stuff this morning, and it's shed over 50% of it's value from two years ago - from 9.8s down to the lower grades. I'm no expert, but the last time I saw people buying comics hand over fist, only to see them lose their value that quickly - it was the mid-90s. And that was newer drek - not BA books that theoretically should hold their values a bit in the higher grades.

I know this comes up all the time, and it's not really nothing new - it was just shocking to see so many red downward-pointing arrows on a GPA listing.

I still think I'll be alright on my 9.4 Marvel Spotlight #2 I bought for a whole Whole lot less for what it's selling currently.   Besides if I sold it, I wouldn't have it anymore.

Possibly. In the comic book world, I tend to think that a lot of collectors are cash poor. That's people in general. I tend to believe that comic collectors often have a huge percentage of their net worth tied up in their collectibles. Even wealthy ones. Maybe the former owner of this Superman #1 was in such a situation, maybe not. Maybe the book wasn't even owned by a single individual, but rather a pool of investors. Who knows. Nonetheless, I would not be surprised if I found out that the owner lost 1/5 or more of his net worth on the sale, given how much collectors put into their wares in this glorious hobby of ours.

You really have to have a lot of money for a $1M to be chump change/of little consequence. Of course that's a subjective term. For me, a loss "of little consequence" would be no more than 1% of my net worth. Above that, it is certainly on my radar as a problem. In this case, that would mean a net worth of at least $100M.

Then whoever('s) bought and sold this is probably crying somewhere.
