  1. 2.0, upper staple detached. Spine split from top to the upper staple. Tear right side until the face, see scan. Tear of half this lenght first page, $ 1600 shipped, paypal. Returns at your expense, no probation or Hos members.
  2. I once had a trimming psychosis. Looks like you could suffer under a rust psychosis.
  3. They (the 9d SA keys) are much rarer than cent copies. That makes them interesting for me. Same like the mexican la prensa books. They cost as much as the US cents originals.
  4. I like book with unusual stamps. Like This from Singapore. Late 40s US books in Germany often have the stamp: 15 cent US zone. I came across some US 50s comics with the stamp "50 Oere", Oere the danish currency.
  5. I am fascinated that here in Germany the fast majority of people dont seem to get the fact that 2020 will go down as a historic year like 1914, 1776, 1789 or 1492. They think that their life will go back to 2019 soon. If they behave and obey. They are so wrong. So when this goes down it will go down long and hard and the guys with cash will be kings. Then they can buy for pennies on the dollar. First the c will flood the market, modern stuff, manufactured gold. But then the better stuff comes to the market because people will be forced to sell.
  6. Is the value of assets rising or is the value of the Dollar declining. I thinks its both.
  7. Its all cyclical. And its always the same: when markets go up like there is no tomorrow we think it will go on this way forever. Until it stops. And the sky falls. It happened before. It will happen again. People in 1929 thought this was the new normal. Getting rich with borrowing money and buying stocks. However they were wrong. Now its the time for the suckers to enter the markets and for the players to prepare to get out.
  8. Spending your money on Comics is such a healthy vice in comparison to sink your money in Bars or drugs.
  9. As I collect mostly everything in GA except most Westerns I buy anticyclic. PCH is often almost as expensive nowadays as Timelys, so I concentrate on the "cold" books. ACG is still cheap and they have good covers.
  10. I convince myself that prices have to come down eventually, if only because of demographics. With the vast amounts of money being printed prices may rise even more, just look at he crypto art craze, its like the south sea bubble or the tulip mania but someday people will realize that there is too much money around and buying power of the dollar/euro will decline. You can cheat reality only for a certain time.
  11. Maybe you can get some of the money back and keep the book. I sent 3 books back bc of resto once, an AF 15 (4.5 sl amateur r, right side trimmed, 1500 $) Flash 123 extra staple about 20 $, and the Charlton with the Ditko elec. chair, spine glued. I regret sending them back, all were great deals.
  12. Looks trimmed. We all sense if a book is trimmed or just poorly cut.
  13. 8.0, $ 348 shipped, paypal. Returns at your expense, no probation or Hos members.
  14. I paid 220 GBP for my 1954 4.5/5.0 Haunt of Fear 1 and consider it a deal.
  15. Its called "The bubble of everything".
  16. Inflation. "Printing" large amounts of Dollars with no economy growth to back it. Fiat currency is no real measurement. The real measurement is gold.
  17. I got this rare one. UK Edition from 1954, squarebound, contains b&w EC reprints.
  18. I was talking about chinese antiques, porcellain ware and paintings etc. Look up the prices at Sothebys. Some of them thousands of years old. Unrelated: Years ago someone here posted a pre 1949 chinese reprint of a US golden age comic, not DC. Must be incredible rare.
  19. When all the funny money is spent and the destruction of the economy is visible for everyone, comic prices will go down big time. Food and housing is more important than Comics. The speculators will leave. Old long time collectors (or their aires) will be forced to sell in order to fund retirement. There is just no way that comic prices sustain this level. And there will be no wave of chinese comic collectors coming in. Chinese collect their own stuff.
