No. just those two.  15 years ago via eBay and dealers, I was knocking them out of the park. Good to hear from DC Golden Age geeks like me.
Phantom Lady was my passion and I completed all the All-Tops and Fox runs in 1979. Bill Black and I did and index that year.

Big time GA geek, but with only a modest budget.  I've got my old SA collection from my teenage years (70's), collected from Cherokee, Bond Street and Collector's, my BA stuff from the news stands (spent a whole dollar on 5 copies of Shazam! #1 - still biding my time before I cash in on that investment :roflmao:)  and a smattering of older stuff whenever I could find it.  After coming back to collecting in 2019 with somewhat disposable income, a 40 year (!) hiatus, it's a rare nickle that goes to anything not GA.  The DC GA that I'm interested in is just too expensive!  Primarily the Spectre/Dr Fate More Fun era, Sandman/Hourman/Starman Adventure era, and early All-Stars.  Still looking for a reasonably priced Phantom Stranger #1 to complete that set.

NB: I'm really enamored with my PS #5 - gorgeous colors and composition.  Prices seem to be softening on the title and maybe I'll get that #1 sometime soon.

Most of my budget seems to have gravitated to trying to put together a WWII-era Speed Comics run.  Got pulled in by #26, then started spreading out from there.  Wonder if I'll ever see a #25 for sale - or if I could afford it?

Love that Moldoff cover, one of my favorites of the run. Congrats on a nice looking copy! I noticed that the majority of books from Ian's collection, though mostly low grade, had very nice cover colors. Something I definitely look for when purchasing. If only I would've got the time right for the auction...I sat down at the computer as More Fun was on issue 57 and missed all of the Adventures I was after...:tonofbricks:

Likewise - luckily for Sauce Dog.  I would have been chasing that Adv 56 he scored

My main goal is run of all the Hourman covers as well as the Full helm Doctor Fate covers. I was also going to do Sandman covers, but he's isn't someone I'm super attached to so happy to stop buying stuff for him now since I got my favourite cover and his first appearance.

More Fun #55, #56, and #68 are the last Doctor Fate books I need to hunt down. Missed out on #68 during this auction, but honestly that book is overpriced for how little importance it has so I'm holding out for a sub $1k copy to turn up. The other two are the biggies I hope to find in as lowest condition possible as they are going to break the bank.

    Here's my #68.

    Trimmed, but affordable ...

I was bidding on some of the More Funs but blew my budget on all the Adventure books I picked up so couldn't win any of the Doctor Fate books I wanted but honestly I don't feel I missed out. The other More Fun issues actually sold where I figured they would, in line with GPA, so unlike many of the other series offered at the auction there were not many 'cheap' final hammer prices for em.

The lone outlier was the MF #52 which I consider to have been a good deal, as getting the 1st Spectre in 3.5 (even if restored) for less than $18k is pretty nice (the last Universal 3.0 sold for $90k...so this copy was a good savings and a grade bump). I really wish I had stacks of cash to afford a book like this.

Yes, I looked longingly at that myself ... but WAY out of my budget :-(

I always loved that cover. Another one of  those iconic covers I first saw in Steranko’s History of the Comics. Congrats!

    Thanks @ReadComix & @plady69

Yes, this one and #8 are iconic.  I was seriously considering going for the #8, but the price seemed a bit too high for the condition.

The #14 has a bi-plane vibe that reminds me of More Fun #54.

  6. I also looked at the Adventure 51 (beautiful cover!), but was put off by the many structural defects and especially the brittle pages.  Glad you're happy with it.  I expected the other Sandmans would blow my budget - and they lived up to expectations.

Mine has deep colors but cost considerably more than yours ...

It suffers from a split spine held together by tape, but that's why it's a 2.5

  7. *Long* time lurker, but Ian's sale (or should I say, Ian's collection) flushed me out and broke the posting ice.  I expect to be more active now.

Interesting sale.  I agree - prices were all over the map, but I managed to snag something that I've had my eye on for a long time, at what I consider a reasonable price.  Plus, it comes with the cachet of the DC Universe collection 9_9

What I did NOT like, is the 25% commission - ouch!  Even worse than Heritage, with nowhere near the professionalism.  A cat crawling around in the background behind the auctioneer?  Really?
