  1. Going to set up the room Friday! See you all there on SATURDAY!
  2. Star Wars #2 also had both. Black diamond on both. UPC version is rare.
  3. I’m guessing they sold at least five, sad to say. You could view this as performance art by an industry poking fun at itself, until you get to the $1000 part.
  4. Yep, they’re selling them for “$1000 or more”. Posted in the other thread: Link
  5. Ok, I thought it was funny when I thought it was just for fun. Now that they’ve announced they are selling them (for $1000 or more each) I agree it’s a cash grab and questionable on the part of both companies.
  6. I think it’s funny. And, yes, I have books waiting at CGC.
  7. I didn’t trust the Mail for comics, but I did buy often from the Bud Plant catalog. I’d scour every page and circle dozens of items I wanted. Usually could afford one or two of them. Still have some of the signed bookplates and hardcovers. Good times!
  8. I’ve got several variants and pedigrees (one is a variant and a pedigree = 2 chances to mess it up) in for grading right now - I’m hoping they come back with correct labels My last submission was happily fast and flawless, but no pedigree or variant books. Did you submit with a paper form or the online form? I’m hoping the drop down options (on the online form) help with accuracy - we shall see.
  9. I think all are culpable. CGC mistake Seller mistake or dishonesty Buyer stupidity/ignorance Everyone wins!
  10. Missed out on paying $477.15 for a $5 book.
  11. I’m on an iPad using Safari. I have to log out then try to log in several times until it finally lets me in.
  12. Thanks! I had it signed at a later date. That’s awesome! I’m actually kind of glad I started with #8, as the first couple issues may not have hooked me like #8 did.
  13. Here is my #8 Editorial variant. In 1989 I was working in a warehouse in SF. My coworker and friend had this book rolled up in his back pocket. I was out of comics for several years, but was curious and asked him about it. He said they gave it to him free at Comix Experience, and he gave it to me. I absolutely loved it and immediately picked up the earlier issues and collected it through completion. I’ve been collecting comics (again) ever since then. Thanks Mike!
  14. Thanks! Yeah, I’ve seen a few Ka-Zar #1s with the insert. There’s a graded one on eBay right now lol.
  15. I did. They haven’t cashed my check. Book not yet received.
  16. Cool! They we’re all fantastic reads, and fun to collect. Good luck on the hunt! Yeah, they all get expensive because they haven’t reprinted them (aside from the HB library I believe), so I just make sure to pick them up as soon as they come out.
  17. Thanks! Here’s a pic of the BPRD shelf. I stupidly sold Plague of Frogs 2 and 3 thinking I’d buy them back cheaper. The hole remains haha.
