  1. Since COVID cases are starting to tick down I decided to do some ranging outside the castle walls this past week. During the expedition I made some interesting finds.
  2. I wish my father in law had anything this worthwhile. He has a collection of VHS recordings of his favorite tv shows that he is leaving to his kids.
  3. Greetings all. I just picked up this ASM 23 at a small local sale. I would appreciate your professional opinions on the estimated grade. Noticeable flaws that I noticed were possible small fingerprint or other funk top mid front cover, moderate spine stress, light staple tears, light tanning back cover, small chipping and tears back cover, small stain back cover left side. Thanks!
  4. Thank you for all of the grade estimates. Full disclosure on this one- The guy had it listed for $250 I got him down to $200. I suspected from looking at it in the bag that the cover was definitely detached at one staple possibly at both. The seller hasn't held a show for over a year and he has a HUGE inventory so I think he may not have re-priced all of his inventory before his sale yesterday. I checked the FMV estimate on gocollect and it is currently $625 for a 2.0 but the last 2.0 recorded sale was $140 on 12/2/2018. Obviously the $625 FMV is driven much higher due to the sale of higher 3.5 ($910) and 4.0 ($842) grades recently. My assumption is once it comes back slabbed from CGC in 18 months it will hold a higher fair market value than my $270 in total costs. Would anyone else have picked this up at a tent sale for $200? Or should I have spent my Saturday more wisely hiking through central Florida looking for wildlife.
  5. Greetings all. I just picked up this ASM 19 at a small local sale. I would appreciate your professional opinions on the estimated grade. Does anyone suspect trimming? That fuzz in the upper left corner looks suspicious to me and I found two white sheets inside the covers that led me to believe this book has been pressed. I hope it has not seen any restoration but I can't tell. Thanks!
  6. Greetings all. I just picked up this X-Men 94 at a small local sale. Significant flaws are cover is detached at both staples, missing piece on bottom right corner and there is tape on the back inside cover near staples (please see pictures) I would appreciate your professional opinions on the estimated grade. Would the tape or missing piece merit a purple or green label or could I still get blue? Thanks!
  7. Hey, Vice took the time to write an article. Which they did not have to do.
  8. Article quote "That new deadline led to yet another surge of submissions and seemingly led to its submission website having major difficulties; the CGC forums are currently filled with very angry people who seemingly weren’t able to meet the deadline."
  9. Probably depends on the tier and average TAT. I did 6 different tiered submissions last year and they were 5 business days for a standard in JAN20, 16 business days for economy APR20, 16 business days for a modern APR20, 21 business days for a modern in JUN20, 22 business days for a value in JUN20, and 12 business days for a modern and value in SEP20 between when my card was charged for CCS services and when I got the CGC acknowledgement email. TAT are much slower now than they were last year.
  10. Greetings all. I found this Batman 189 in a mystery box kind of a situation at an estate sale. It was unbagged and unboarded and stored vertically in a plastic basket with other like condition books. I would appreciate your professional opinions on the estimated grade. I am considering whether or not it is worth slabbing under the new economy tier. Thanks!
  11. I don't know why they didn't remove mine then. I paid an extra $25 and waited an extra 75 working days.
  12. I sent in this raw ASM with pencil to CCS. I had hoped & assumed they would remove the pencil but it came back still there.
  13. Same here. After three hours I was able to create the 9 book order.
  14. I think he means the guy he quoted who is going to make CGC recreate their invoice. I have been trying to add my last book to my order for 90 minutes. Hopefully I can get it added and create the invoice in the next 6.5 hours.
  15. Just got this box in the mail with 3 ASM slabs. Luckily the books were undamaged.
