This happened to me recently also. I called customer service and they told me that the certification numbers "fell out of the census." They told me to take a picture of the slabs next to a recent newspaper like a ransom photo and email the pictures and brief description of what happened to the customer service email address. It took a couple of weeks but they were able to re-enter them into the census. They also gave me the grader's notes for free since the person who submitted them was unable to send them to me with the sale since they fell off his submission page.

Same. I have a reholder, modern and value shipment received since 6/25/20. I at least expected the reholders to have moved by now.

I have a CGC shipment that was shipped out on the 16th of June and there hasn't been any updates since Tampa on June 17th. I also changed addresses so it will need to be forwarded from my old address once it arrives in Omaha.

Where are the Grader Notes found
PickleRick1216 replied to chuck 2.0's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
As a buyer I appreciate that. I keep a spreadsheet with the grader's notes on it because I am detail oriented. -

Has there been any official updates, unofficial rumors or Ouija board readings on this event lately? I was hoping to attend one CON this year. -
Square bound Question
PickleRick1216 replied to Ozonetv's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Great question. I have an ASM 102 at CGC right now with some staple impressions. My book has some other issues as well but I'm also curious about staple impressions. -

I always ask the person I bought the slab from if they have the grader's notes (especially if it was recently slabbed). Most people are willing to provide them to you if they have them. -

First time grading
PickleRick1216 replied to Jordan Morris's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Just a suggestion... I have an excel spreadsheet with my submissions and I project the dates when they will move to the next step based on recent posts from peers on the above mentioned current turnaround rates at CGC thread. You can use a business day counter tool website to calculate when they will move through each step. My latest projection for my recent modern comic submission is: MODERN COMICS X 11 W/ CCS SERVICES Shipped to CGC: 6/17/20 Delivered to CGC: 6/22/20 CGC Submission Acknowledgement Email: 6/24/20 CCS Payment Acknowledgement Email: 8/20/20 CGC Submission Acknowledgement Email: 9/21/20 Scheduled for Grading: 9/23/20 Grading/ Quality Control: 9/24/20 Finalized/Imaged/Shipped: 9/25/20 -
Has anyone had any luck getting more detailed grader's notes than what is disclosed on the submission tracking hyperlink? I am assuming they have an extremely detailed checklist that they fill out for each book and keep on file but I am a little discouraged when all I get back is "light foxing to cover, wear all corners cover breaks color."

Check again. There appears to have been a glitch where everyone's submissions disappeared. Mine reappeared yesterday. -

Go to the CGC submissions tracking page and click on the red hyperlink with your submission #. You should see each book listed out and a red hyperlink for "grader's notes." However books graded at 9.0 and above usually don't have grader's notes listed on the website for some reason. -

Loose inner well in new cases?
PickleRick1216 replied to MagicMan_2017's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
I would like to state for the record that I am grateful to have some sort of protection for my comics from the CGC slabs. I bought most of them when I was a kid and I am active duty military so I move every 2 years. Through 15 years of service I had most of my books in just a bag and board in a box and I was lucky they didn't get damaged by extreme heat and cold, packing/unpacking and general bumping around through five cross county moves. I recently sent them all in to be slabbed and I feel better about having them professionally graded and preserved. From what I have read on the boards it is generally unrealistic to get them back from CGC without some loose inner wells, scuffs/smears, spots or general dings on the slab and even when they get sent back for re-holdering they probably wont all come back unscathed. From now on I have decided that I will only kick them back if the slabs are cracked and I am going to try to live with loose inner wells, scuffs, smears and spots. Perhaps when they design a new 4th generation case it will make everyone happy by being cheaper, tight wells, scuff, smear, spot and newton ring free. However a slab like that may be a moonshot. -
Turn around time
PickleRick1216 replied to Joey178's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Bottom line up front: The overall turnaround times are much faster than what is stated on the CGC schedule. Sometimes there are some strange delays between received and payment acknowledgement etc. but you should have them in hand well before you expect them. Here are some of the turnaround times from my recent shipments: VALUE COMICS x 13 W/ CCS SERVICES Received- 3/5/20 CCS Payment Acknowledgement Email- 4/30/20 (56 days, 40 business days) CGC Submission Acknowledgement Email- 6/2/20 (33 days, 22 business days) CGC Payment Acknowledgement Email- 6/3/20 (1 day, 1 business day) Scheduled For Grading- 6/11/20 (8 days, 6 business days) Grading/Quality Control- 6/15/20 (4 days, 2 business days) Finalized/Imaged/Shipped- 6/16/20 (1 day, 1 business day) MODERN COMICS x 19 W/ CCS SERVICES Received- 3/5/20 CCS Payment Acknowledgement Email- 4/30/20 (56 days, 40 business days) CGC Submission Acknowledgement Email- 6/1/20 (32 days, 21 business days) CGC Payment Acknowledgement Email- 6/3/20 (2 days, 1 business day) Scheduled for Grading- 6/4/20 (1 day, 1 business day) Grading/Quality Control- 6/5/20 (1 day, 1 business day) Finalized/Imaged/Shipped- 6/9/20 (4 days, 2 business days) -
Loose inner well in new cases?
PickleRick1216 replied to MagicMan_2017's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
I agree. I sent some back for scuffs but they came back scuffed again. I just received a 19 book shipment yesterday and most of the inner wells were loose. I don't plan on sending them back because I don't have a high degree of confidence they will come back without defects. -
That's unusual. You should call them. Their phone customer service is quite good. 1-877-NM-COMIC

Loose inner well in new cases?
PickleRick1216 replied to MagicMan_2017's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
I have noticed this on over half of the ones I get back to. I sent some back for re-holder for scuffs due to shipping "mechanical errors" on the case and they came back again with loose inner wells and scuffs. -
