  1. Really..? Wow. I do it all the time with toys. Different market ofc but I think wraps from ASM14 would shift for $50 each..? If I can get the wrap another way though I'd do that.
  2. Yeah - although I see loads of raw books getting decent money. I guess it depends on a few factors. On ebay things can just be returned so its pretty low risk.
  3. Yeah and I have a bit of a problem with that - as I've said before should a 1mm square colour touch really signal 'death'..?
  4. Yeah - its easy to be dismissive of 'small' amounts but if I could get $100 out of it that would go towards a better one. And ofc if I buy a rough book to get the wrap I daresay I could split that book up entirely and get the money back - $50 a wrap..? Seems worth thinking about.
  5. Cheers gadzukes - yeah I am thinking very carefully about what to do. This was £500 odd so will depend how cheap I can get the wrap.
  6. Indeed - not sure. It was £500 odd which I thought was OK. Wouldn't it get a green Qualified though..? I collect. I get upgrades by buying and selling a bit. Same with toys.
  7. I think its a 4.5 maybe 5.0 not sure. With clean and press maybe 5.0..? Not a great photo - in the hand it looks quite nice.
  8. Cheers Harry - doesn't that depend though on how much the replacement wrap would cost..? What if I can get it for like £200 - would that not then make it worth doing..? I now this has already been discussed but now I've actually got it I have to decide.
  9. And $500 up. Do you think its worth doing..? I've been advised just sell it but I like to fix things.
  10. Yes sorry I was confused about leaf/page. Apologies to all.
  11. Sorry mate I've got it now. Thanks for helping.
  12. See my post above - I've got the book. I've counted. The mystery is the wrongly labelled slabbed book. Unless I've gone mad.
  13. Bro I've GOT THE BOOK and I've COUNTED IN FROM THE FRONT. Whatever way you do it p12 is a story page. SO: counting each side of each leaf from story page 1 - p12 is a story page counting each side of each leaf from front cover - p12 is a story page Unless I've gone completely insane. Possible.
  14. Cheers - but whichever way you count it p 12 is a story page and on the case it says it isn't.
  15. Oh well not possible as we have no idea which pages are missing if you see what I mean. The book needs to be taken out.
  16. Yes indeed and Marvel maniac did help me greatly - we discovered that the missing page is unique to ASM14 - well we're 90% sure. So I need a rough copy but they start at like $500. We'll see.
  17. Already discussed but I now have the book. Missing 1 ad page. Other side of that wrap still present and on the staples. I've been advised to just sell it as is but I might try to marry the wrap from a rough copy. Might be more trouble than its worth but I just like fixing things if I can I think it was generally judged to a 4.5 or 5.0.
  18. That's what I said. No matter how you count the coverless slabbed book p12 is a story page so the notes on the Blue Label are wrong.
  19. But there aren't 12 leaves - I think there are 8 in an average silver age book..?
  20. I just checked my copy of the book and whichever way you count 'p12' is a story page - but the slabbed book says story not affected. So the slab info is wrong.
  21. Sorry if this a dopey question but in a coverless slabbed book what would 'page 12' be..? On a book with a cover I think p12 is the 12th side in if the front cover is p1..? There's no way of knowing is there..? They may have counted the cover even though its missing or they may not..?
  22. Cheers MM - I've been emailing on ebay and it seems those books don't have the page either. Looks like rough ASM14 is the only way I'm going to get it.
