The clock starts after the signing happens. They posted about the Morrison signing happening, on the CGC facebook page, like 5 days ago. So, the clock starts after that.

No Worries, I asked because mine was signed by Claremont and I'm wondering the implications...

Since you responded I'll ask you too, not to hijack the thread, as Claremont is still alive, and I would argue "could still be on the table?" as opposed to the it's not Stan not worth it etc.

My GSXM #1 was a 7.0 blue label, likewise a signing opportunity with CGC came up with Claremont with a flat cost no matter the value of the book on CGC insurance to submit. I think Claremont was somewhere around $120 total. I had joeypost press before sending for the signing.

IT WAS a blue label 7.0, came back a signature series CGC 8.0 with a Claremont signature. Based on sales, I'm not sure if I stuck myself in the foot  or traded one issue for another.

IMO it shouldn't hurt and should still be worth what an 8.0 sells for etc. idk, and idk if I should suggest Claremont sigs on this issue to others or is a personal choice  I know he was credited with "help on the book", sig isn't so much for the investment but that the press and etc grade was one flat cost and etc.

I'm spinning wheels, but I would agree there are much more "apporpriate books" for Claremont sig. idk. I don't know if it was "worth it or worthy to be considered in the running" given the 1st post doesn't even mention that as "an option" though still alive!  

The fact that you got a bump on it grade wise could only help in my experience. But, you also got a bump and added a sig, which could add a little extra value. I didn't even realize Clairmont was credited in that book. Then again, I don't own that book either, so there's a lot of stuff about it I don't know about it.  And I think what S-Man's point was is that the only sig worth risking it would be one that would add major value. While Clairmont is a big deal when it comes to X-Men history, he also does a ton of signings. So, his sig is out there on a lot of books, so it doesn't add much. Personally, when I decide if I am going to send something for a signature, the first thing I look at is fair market value for what it's at now, and how that would be impacted if it were to drop a grade or two. And then decide if I could live with that loss. Cause, as bad as it sounds, a large majority of sigs you get, you are not going to get back what you put into it cost wise for the sig and regrading while that person is still alive. And some, depending on the amount of books they sign, even after they pass it might not add much. So, I typically just look at it from a perspective of what's it worth at the grade now, and can I live with it if it drops. Cause though most of the time the grade stays exactly the same, I have probably had more drop then I have had them go up. So, even if I think a press should raise the grade, I don't expect or rely on it to. So, if it does it's great. But I don't bank on it. 

With a book this valuable, and CGC's grading being very inconsistent lately, I don't know that I'd risk it due to fear of the grade dropping some. Cause if it dropped any, you'd definitely be losing way more value then you'd be adding with Glynnis signature. I definitely understand the desire to add a sig to it! But I'd be fearful of it coming back less valuable then when  you sent it. Losing the label to add Glynnis would be worth it to me. Risking the grade dropping to add her, definitely not in my opinion. And at this point, CGC's grading is just so hit and miss on books I sent I wouldn't trust it not dropping. 

Some of the more recent signings where remarks were offered, but no sketches, CGC has been putting no blank covers. I bet this becomes a regular thing due to the abuse by some people during Art's signing. If Art even does another signing after this mess, I'd bet that his remark costs go up significantly and that Blanks will not be allowed.

If you go into the CGC Authorized Facilitator Event drop down window under the submissions section, you can see what facilitators have listed events they will be doing in the next few months. Only two I saw that had C2E2 listed were Scott's Collectible's and Big Time Collectibles. Not sure about any info other then that, as I have not used either before to my knowledge. But, normally if I am looking for a particular event I find who is doing it thru the CGC Submission section, then search them online to find info/and or contact info to get the information I need.

Typically I've gone with the it has to be there by the deadline date. Though I have had issues a few times with the Post Office not getting it there before then, and they have still accepted them if they were close. On sig series stuff, instead of the regular customer service, I typically have way more luck getting timely answers by emailing the Sig Series team directly at signatureseries@cgccomics.com. They are usually much better at answering then the customer service. And since what you are asking about it a CGC In House Signing, it follows under them.

Definitely no rhyme or reason with their private signings. I've seen some happen within a few weeks of the deadline, and others that have ended up 3-6 months after the deadline. Feels like they typically have a guess as to when it would work for the artist/creator, then schedule the deadline accordingly. But, also feels like that can change a lot as it's based on the artists openings, not CGC's. So, the deadline unfortunately doesn't tell you anything in the long run!

Basically I think cgc might find it hard to find people to come sign as its not worth their while. I see books on ebay sitting with no bids for a super low price…

The other part of this is that as of the last year, most of their "in house signings" are not actually done in house. A large portion of them are done with guests attending larger cons that CGC will have a presence at. Like I know they did a ton of signings at NYCC last year, and they recent team Artgerm signing I am pretty sure was done when they were at Megacon. I also know they did some last summer during SDCC. So, first part of the year is a lot slower "Big Con Wise." So, that will also slow down their signing. They still do have some that they will fly in to the home office in Sarasota. But feels like is much fewer and farther between, then during the height of Covid, when cons were not happening. 

Desert Winds Comics has it listed under their events schedule on their website, but it's for mail in only submissions. So, not sure if you were looking to mail in to a facilitator or if you were hoping for one on site since you were attending. They are the only one I personally have seen so far. But, with how big that con is, I'd be surprised if they don't have an onsite facilitator as well. 

Unfortunately not the first time something like this has happened and sadly probably won't be the last. There are people, including myself, who are still waiting for Art Adam's remarks from a signing that happened last summer. Same deal, sold too many, and have been waiting for him to slowly do them and send them back. I sent in an actual book, and not a blank cover. So, seems like those are being done last. Also, I feel your pain on getting passed up. For the last McFarlane signing, I got my books to them several months early, and I ended up in the third wave of signings. And I know people who got their books in a day or two before the deadline who were in wave 1. So, doesn't feel like there's any rhyme or reason to how they do signings.

That alone is eliminating me from sending something to him. That's more then McFarlane, Liefeld, and Gaiman charged, and I was very limited in what I sent to them. I don't hate on him for charging what he values his signature at, as that is his prerogative. If others want to and can afford to send in for that cost, then I have no issue with them doing so, Just personally I can't justify it though.

This seems to be a regular issue now. I've had several last year, and just got a book back from a Peter David signing, in which they listed Peter David as the only signing and ignored Greg Land's signature which was already there from a previous signing and grading. So, that's like 3 books in the last year I've had to send back to get redone for this same issue. Crazy thing is that the first time it happened, I got a yellow and green label because there was something written in ink on the cover. The last 3 they didn't even ding me for that, just ignored creators names on the cover that is clearly seen.

There should be quite a few facilitating Megacon. The two I know off the top of my head are Rich Henn and Agents of Slabs, who I've dealt with both and they are great to work with. But, I am sure there are more then just those two as it's a huge event. For Rich you can email him at richhenncomics@gmail.com. You just tell him what sigs you are looking to get and he will give you the cost for the sig and his facilitation fee. He also does a great job pressing books if they need it. For Agents of Slabs, they have their own website https://www.agentsofslabs.com/. You can get some info off of the website and also there is info to contact them.

It used to not be clickable until pressing was completed and it went to scheduled for grading. On my more recent orders, I have noticed when it changes from received at CCS to CCS in process, when it is in the pressing room, at that point it allows you to click on it and see what books they are.

Yeah, that sucks too! I wouldn't have been as concerned if it wasn't for my books that went into grading 3 weeks later are jumping ahead. Though guess if others are experiencing the same issue makes me feel better about the concern of them being lost. Also don't think it helped that my friend, who's books from the same con went to GEI after mine, got his back the week of the move while mine didn't move. Oh well, guess its back to being patient. 

Since the move has happened, it seems like the order books are getting graded is way out of whack. I had 2 books from a Convention go into GEI on November 1st. It is still sitting in GEI. I was originally told it was graded before the move and would be encapsulated after the move was done. That was 2-3 weeks ago. Messaged multiple times in the last 7-10 days to ask for an update. Finally got a response apologizing for it being passed the turnaround time, and that they would send a message telling them to find my books immediately and finish them. That was 2 days ago. Those two books are still in GEI, meanwhile, a book that went into GEI on November 22nd, 21 days later, is already at Grading/Quality Control. Anyone else experiencing things like this since CGC's move? Getting a little concerned my books got lost in the move, but if others are dealing with the same issues it will make me feel better that it's not an isolated incident.
