    Hi!

I won't be attending Memphis Comic Expo, September 23rd and 24th, but I'm looking for a mail-in facilitator for two books to be signed by Kevin Eastman.

    Thanks!

I know Agent's of Slabs will be the CGC rep at the show. And they typically take mail in submissions for shows they are the CGC rep at. So you could try reaching out to them. They have a facebook page and a website you can message them on.

How do you go about finding out about ALL of the signing events? I see books on eBay just recently signed by people not listed on the website. Charles Vess, Louise Simonson, for example, signed in June of this year. I know Louise Simonson had/has a signing event advertised with CBCS, but that’s all I’ve seen for her.

I know Louise and Walt Simonson do multiple Cons a year. So, a June signing date most likely is just people getting books signed by them at a Con they were attending, or were sent to a CGC Facilitator who was attending that Con, not an official CGC Signature Series Signing. For the most part CGC just advertises and promotes their Signature Series Signings, not Con's Facilitators will be at or private signings by CGC Facilitator's.

Hi All - looks like Twin Cities Comics will be attending based on their latest email. Hope this helps! (also hope they will facilitate for the guests we're looking for, good luck all! :wishluck:)

I did get an email from Twin Cities today also stating they will be doing mail in signings for Rose City. I emailed them and they said that they had some of the Celeb sig options on their website in their store. And that if you needed a different Celeb then what they had listed to email them about it. I specifically asked about comic book creators, and they said to follow the guidelines on their site about how to send it books, and that the charge would be $10 plus the sig cost for the creator. And that you would have them graded on your own CGC account. So what dza510 said a few weeks ago is definitely confirmed.

  4. With a slabbed book I typically just send in a backerboard with the CGC paper attached to it. Though I have also just sent in a slab with the CGC paper attached to the back of the slab. And have never had an issue. StillOnly25Cents is correct that they just put it in one of their window bags for the signing. Only reason to worry about sending in your own bag is if you are wanting to window bag it to have the artist sign in a particular location. If you don't care where it's signed on the cover, then its not necessary.

I did knock out all the Valkyries, but haven't dedicated myself to beating the queen yet.

Instead, I did very quickly blaze through the LOU remaster on an easy setting.  Also, completed the story in Miles Morales.  It was fun.

Decided to take a shot at something different and played through the story in The Quarry.  It is basically a motion captured movie that is pick your own adventure style.  Decisions impact how the story ends and are supposedly lots and lots of different endings, although I think most of that is just whether some certain characters die or not.  I don't know if I will bother going back into the chapters and making different decisions or not.

I ended up doing multiple playthroughs on the Quarry. I ended up finding online deals that told you the specific decisions you have to make during what chapters to get the different trophies and endings. Some of them just required restarting on a higher chapter # and changing one or two things. So while I felt accomplished in getting all the trophies/endings, it was very grindy and repetitive, and I wasted a lot of time after work for a week to a week and a half to do it. So, you're probably smart to not go down that rabbit hole. (:

Any idea when Hailee Steinfeld is going to start her signings? Does CGC announce anywhere when certain signings start other than instagram?(even there they don’t post all signing progress videos)

The celeb signings they do are typically in conjunction with Ace Universe. So I think Ace handles those signings, they aren't a private signing that takes place at CGC headquarters. So seems like they only post a signing taking place when it's happening if it's at the CGC Headquarters. Aside from that they usually post pics after it's taken place on either Facebook or Instagram. But I went to the Ace Universe site, and the con that they were doing that Hailee was at appeared to be taking place this coming up weekend. So can't say for sure, but I would bet that will be when your book/s get signed by her.

  7. Typically CGC won't announce the actual date until the week of the signing or they'll post about it the day the signing happens. Due to creators having to change dates, sometimes at the last minute, they don't give dates until they know it's happening for sure. I've had signing happen within a few weeks to a month of the deadline, and I've had some that didn't occur for almost 6 months after the deadline. So no definitive way to guess. I hadn't seen anything about her yet though, so it most likely hasn't happened yet.

That is a serious pro tip - thanks - it never even occurred to me to put in a prepared window bag with the slab submission.

Maybe that’s why any direction I put on the slab itself doesn’t end up happening.

Definitely if you are wanting a certain location and color do your own bag to send with it. If you don't really care about location, then I typically just send in a backer board with the sig series card taped to it and they'll put the backer board and the comic in one of their yellow bags for the signing part of it.

I am curious about something, when you send in a book for signing does the artist have to be related to the specfic issue you are submitting.

So if I have a Peter Perker Spiderman Key I would love to have signed, I would need to look for a CGC signing event with the artist for that specific issue right?

A lot of it depends on the artist also. Like I know for instance that even though he helped create Venom, that when you send it books for a Todd McFarlane signing, that he lists certain Venom related stuff he won't sign. Whereas Rob Liefeld created Cable, and for his upcoming signing I don't recall him saying he wouldn't sign Cable books he didn't draw. I mean he still could say no, no way to know for sure, but seems like if they are adamant about not signing particular books, they list that in the info on the signing when CGC is doing it.

Thank you. This is great. I had no idea such an industry existed: "facilitators." I would have had trouble trusting a 3rd party with my books, but your recommendations are very helpful.

I have had a lot of books go thru Rich Henn, and have never had an issue. I know he is doing NYCC again this year and is great to work with. And have also used Agents of Slabs as a facilitator multiple times and they have also been great to work with.

    Cincinnati Comic Expo

They will have Jim Lee, Scott Williams, and Alex Sinclair for prepaid signing. Everyone else is available at the show.

Looking at the tickets there will be a facilitator present as they are offering CGC grading options for signatures but no information on who and it isn't on CGC event calendar.

Does anyone know who the facilitator will be? I sent them an email but they haven't replied for over a week now.

I would like to get 4 books done (maybe more depending on other guest lineups)

Not sure who will be manning the CGC table, but I do know that @Rich_Henn will be attending this con just facilitating mail in submissions. If that helps you any. You can email him at richhenncomics@gmail.com for more info. I have sent books in to Rich for 4-5 years now and he is great to work with and always takes care of the people sending books in to him.

Hey guys, wanting to a get a book signed by the animated cast of X-MEN, any Facilitators going to Rhode Island Comic Con this year?

@Rich_Henn usually does Rhode Island Comic Con. Last year he got Vincent D'Onofrio to sign a Daredevil book for me there. Rich is great to work with.

  13. Rich Henn will be there. Have used him as a facilitator a lot and he is one of the best I have worked with. You can email him @ richhenncomics@gmail.com. Just let him know it's your first time sending with him and he can give you the info you need and also if you give him a list of names you are interested in he can give you the prices each sig would cost you. And if you talk to him and decide not to send anything in, he won't pressure you.

Don't feel bad - Rich Henn posted a week or so back that he gets emails from people asking if he get can get folks like Jack Kirby (passed in 1994) and John Buscema (2002) on a fairly regular basis.  I just assume those are the people that still have comic books but never got around to getting the internet.

Per CGC, Rich must have perfected time travel. Cause on the last 3 books CGC graded that he facilitated, two of them were signed December of 22 but CGC put them on the label and in their system as December of 23. :flamed:

Web help has told me this:

"We're trying to figure out why this might be happening specifically on the weekends."

I did a signature series entry and it worked fine. Then tried to do a mechanical error right after and got this error. I was instructed by the Signature Series team to send it back cause two of the three books I got in an order had December or 2023 as the signature dates. Was hoping to get it to FedEx this weekend. Guess that’s not happening now.

  16. When the deadline in to when the signing is varies quite a bit depending on the creator's schedule. I've had some I sent in occur within a few weeks to a month after the deadline, and I've had some take 3-6 months after the deadline to actually occur. Best thing to do on asking about dates or the question with the Clairmont signing is to email the Signature Series team directly a signatureseries@cgccomics.com. They are typically very good and fast with responses. They won't be able to give you an exact signing date, but they can usually let you know if there is a planned date as of now and when it will be. And when I've had questions about a specific submission they're great with giving me some info.

I know Rob Liefeld hasn’t come to cgc yet but my decision on what to send would be made easier if I knew if he was going to have a return for a second (or more) times. 😊

You never know with Rob one way or another. But on his facebook page he runs, someone commented on hoping he was going to do a second signing cause they missed out on getting his chisled sig due to it selling out. And Rob's response was "Not gonna happen, the window is now." So take it for what it's worth, as if it goes well enough and there is demand for another one, I could see him doing another one eventually. But as of now he's talking like this will be his only one.

My submission just moved to G/E/I.

Glad to hear it! I was told mine was done on March 28th, but since I was getting pressing I have up to 8 weeks for it to be pressed and graded. So I probably still have a while. But glad to see that they are finally moving for people!
