Your one and only favorite Silver Age Cover
frozentundraguy replied to bronze johnny's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
This is a tough call for me. I considered Detective comics #256, with the first Bat tank and the first S.A. Detective comic as well. Also up there is World of Fantasy #17, with the robot who's about to pull the lever to save the world. Also ranking high in my collection is World of Mystery #1, where a modern day Robinson Crusoe who just crawled up a cliff from a ship wreck is confronted by a giant robot. But I will have to go with a cover by Russ Heath for Journey into Unknown Worlds #49, which hands down, at least in my collection, has the most awesome robot cover. -
I put the book up on Ebay yesterday.

Karloff, Dell, TV horror and more.....
frozentundraguy replied to 1950's war comics's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Back in the early 2000's I traded my collection of Mad Mag's, including #94, for a copy of Flash #108. I sold my copy of Flash #108, for unknown reasons back in 2016, and instantly regretted it. However, I found a nice batch of a dozen Mad's at an antique shop about 6 years ago, including #94, and bought those. Then to complete the story/search I found and purchased another copy of Flash #108 about a year and a half ago. -

Karloff, Dell, TV horror and more.....
frozentundraguy replied to 1950's war comics's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
I have a few Dell books for this thread. However, before I get into those I must share my absolute favorite Mad Magazine cover, as they spoof King Kong, with their twist on the story and no doubt from the usual gang of i-d-i-o-t-s. -
The LCS had it priced at $60. I bought some other books as well and he gave me an 8% discount across the board.

Three different takes on Frankenstein. First up a later edition of Classics Illustrated, followed by an appearance in Superman, and finally a MAD app. -

I recall checking for this book in the TRU package on Ebay probably 8 or more years ago and finding a few for sale. Right now there are no sellers with this packaging for Superman 0, so it should be worth the effort to list it. I just did a search for Breeding's signature with a 1994 comics and only found 3 for sale. I have not bought many comics for investment, but when I have my profits have been quite modest.

The seller also has recorded a mind numbing 25 sales, and an exceptional feedback score of just over 90%. -
