  1. October 1965 water monster to November 1965 land monster
  2. Those bottom three are some of my favorite issues.
  3. If this book looks a little like a Frankenstein cover it is, as part of another issue was used to make the cover whole. The book was a toss-in with a purchase of other books.
  4. I found this book at the LCS about a year ago.
  5. Picked this book up at the LCS today. It seemed like I was buying a used car.
  6. Made it to the LCS today, and bought just one book. It's a new title for me. I was there to drop off a book to be pressed, but It's hard to leave an LCS without a purchase.
  7. Good point. I read it when I acquired it about 7 or 8 years ago, so a re-read would be in order.
  8. From my quick search a few weeks ago I had found the tank next appeared in the 80's, but do not know which issue or issues. I only own a couple of issues of Detective Comics that are Bronze age or newer.
  9. I also was surprised. Perhaps it's due to the infrequent appearances of the tank.
  10. I would have to say I was pleasantly surprised by both grades. Two different stories for these books however. I checked my notes and found I picked up TEC 279 back in 2005 at the LCS for a reasonable price. Issue 236 was another matter. I must have searched for at least 5 years, finding quite a few around good to VG. When I finally spotted this copy it was a quick decision to pull the trigger and buy it. Oddly the book was not priced nearly as high as I was expecting, proving once again that Silver Age DC is underappreciated.
  11. I have a couple of TEC issues recently back from CGC
  12. Thanks @Frisco Larson one of these days I might have to get my copy of Detective Comics 332 graded.
  13. After seeing all of these copies of #79 recently, I must confess I sold mine. Just after I first started collecting (early 2000's) I found this copy in a bargain bin. A couple of years ago I noticed how much it was going for and sold it on Ebay. Then early last year I spotted this copy for less than $50 at the LCS. I sold it on Ebay as well.
  14. If anyone is looking for a copy of World of Mystery #1, now might be the time. There are about 9 copies for sale on Ebay right now, so a deal might even be possible. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=world+of+mystery+1+-unexplored&_sacat=259103&LH_TitleDesc=0&rt=nc&Era=Silver%20Age%20%281956%2D69%29&_odkw=world+of+mystery+-unexplored&_osacat=259103&_dcat=259104&_sop=16&LH_PrefLoc=2
  15. From grabbing a train to grabbing a ride on the rails
  16. Very sharp books. I too have issue #134 of Marvel Tales, but I have no plans to submit it for grading as it's an average copy.
