  1. Thanks. I had thought it might obtain a 6.0.
  2. Also recently back from CGC is my copy of World of Fantasy #17. Fortunately this book this came back without any surprises.
  3. I spotted an omission of my own. In the very first post of round one I neglected to mention there was a prize of $25 to the winner.
  4. I also want to take a moment and thank @Point Five on two counts. First off he had a grading contest in the not too distant past which inspired me to try running one. Secondly he provided a Xcel template for recording the grades and for scoring. However I had to take a shot at creating my own grading solution.
  5. It was a very close contest. Both Funnybooks and Grendlebo had 5 bullseyes, and BatmanFett had 4.
  6. Now what everyone is waiting for .... the final standings. I hope there are no errors in scoring this round either.
  7. No need to wait until 8 as all contestants have their grades reported. Round three had the following books: Flash comics #81 Detective Comics #236 World of Fantasy #17
  8. Final call for grades with about 7 hours to go. @Cushing Fan @universal soldier @Funnybooks @CJ Design @brumil190 @DeadOne @Golden Pete
  9. I have that covered. Instead of getting a reader copy, though I have some of those. I picked up the Masterworks volume & it covers the Groot issue to boot.
  10. Great set of books! TOS #24 is particularly good.
  11. Once I read their disclaimers I felt it would be a waste of time and energy to contact them. Given that I don't have an uber high grade the dollars involved are pretty minimal also.
  12. Just over half of the contestants have supplied grades for the books. There is just under 24 hours to go before the reveal.
  13. I took a rule, using the millimeters side and measured that book and another Atlas book from about the same date. I could not detect any difference in length between the two books. Of course that may be due to the fact the books are slabbed and it's hard to obtain an exact measurement. That must be one micro trim.
  14. I just checked their help section to see what the qualifiers might be for returns. It does not look good. 1) "If the rare occasion arises where you feel you must return an item, you must contact us for return instructions within ten (10) days (by phone or email) of receipt of your item." The nail in the coffin 2) "Please note that we cannot accept returns on any books, including those with previously undetected restoration, after the specified return period listed here."
  15. Ii might just contact Comic Connect and see what they would do.
  16. Eleven contestants have supplied grades for this round. One contestant has 2 bullseyes.
  17. I picked it up for a reasonable cost, so I guess it's more of a minor irritant than anything. Does anyone know what kind of percentage hit a purple label book takes when it's time to sell?
