  1. People get comics slabbed for all sorts of reasons such as restoration check(esp on older books), protection, uniformity, a third part opinion of grade, helping with valuation and much more. It also provides a safer way to buy/sell in this age of the internet, and as you pointed out it has it's drawbacks. I can't speak for everyone, there are probably a ton more reasons, try asking HERE. +1

  4. It is around $20k over a semi-recent sale of a similar copy. So, the price is a bit optimistic FMV is about $45k, so $43k was a fair offer...but minus the clink cut, they are left with $39k

  9. interesting that when medical tape is found on comics, it tends to always be on GA
  10. not that I've seen or received. Fully split spine seems like a "ceiling" defect that CGC automatically says 1.0 at very best even if eye appeal is much nicer.

  14. I only collect the WWII caps, to keep the costs down and to draw the line SOMEWHERE, but everytime I see any of the Weird Tales Caps I debate the rule. This copy is and Peter just might be our resident expert on Cap 74s---at least the Canadian versions . Nice one Peter...is that your 3rd time getting this one back?
