  1. I'm not a big action 15 fan, but this being OA cover makes it very appealing. If there really are no earlier OA pieces of Supe in existence, then this would conceivably be THE holy grail of existing supe OA. It is, without a doubt, THE holy grail of Action 15 original cover art collectors. that's why these boards are a wealth of info
  2. Yowzers... wow, not many OA GA covers exist! Wonder if this cracks 6 figs? I say yes. If it isn't all stats, and is mostly original art, then I'll be a player I was being serious for a change you're always a player Bill especially if it's involving a Bat 1

  4. I don't think I posted my re-admission ticket here. I've only owned three books in 1-24, and here's the second go around with the 21, which I think is the best cover outside of 1,7,10,13.

  6. WoW! This is such a great cover! snakes and hooded goons always make a stunner.
  7. PQ affects CGCs opinion. I had a raw Tec 31 that structurally was a 2.5/3.0 but a brittle corner deemed it down to a 1.8.
  8. Great looking copy Bill. (thumbs u I know that Batman #1 is your favorite book, as it is mine, and I'm curious... What is it about this issue that makes it so special to you? As long as I can remember, it has been THE book for me. I mean just saying it out loud "Batman Number One" is amazing. I mean it is BATMAN and it is the #1 issue of his own title. Not to mention it has the first appearance of the most important, and recognizable villain of all time (The Joker) and the most important female villain of all time (Catwoman). I know that Action 1 and Tec 27 are bigger books, but say those titles to a layman and you'll get little, or no, reaction. Say Batman number one to them and they get impressed. I'm not sure if Batman 1 is the reason I love yellow covers with red logos, or my love of yellow covers with red logos makes it even more special to me. But either way I love that combo. If I only had one book in my collection it would be Batman #1. I'd like to add a Tec 27 back to my collection to complement the Bat 1. But the chances of reacquiring one of those anytime soon is pretty slim Ciorac likes this one so much, he actually travels with it, allowing peons like me to gaze in wonder "close up". A very generous fellow. Bill, you are living the life here! You look so relaxed and geeked
  9. looks like an Adventure 75 and Exciting 19 in lower left rack. And possibly a Supe 17 lower right rack/fourth row up/end book..? and a pep 28 below the Supe...Marvel 32 to the right of the Pep...More Fun 81 up five rows from the Supe..?

  11. Too bad it doesn't look like that any more. yah I remember what happened in transit to you.
  12. My former 35...Diamond run copy (no, not a ped)
  13. agreed. I sold/bought all my pre robins privately most do.... there is really no reason to auction them, as a seller, why give up 10-20% to an auction house on books that are easy to retail oneself exactly.

  15. Wonderful unrestored copy Ben! and a good story too! Yes, fantastic copy Ben thanks fellas. Has to be one of the best looking 2.0s out. I've seen higher graded copies with far less eye appeal. So what does one prefer more--higher grade less eye appeal or lower grade more eye appeal? A beauty of a 2.0 Ben! I was lucky enough to witness that purchase at SDCC 2-3 years ago I'm glad you listened to me by purchasing the book. I knew it would cost a lot, but well worth it now. As to your question, I'd rather have a lower graded copy with strong eye appeal thanks Brian. And, yes, we have both been present to witness each other's acquisitions at SDCC . I always seem to buy a big book whenever we hang out at cons

So what does one prefer more--higher grade less eye appeal or lower grade more eye appeal? The eye appeal definitely trumps grade for me, although a combo of both is nice. I actually like books with detached, non-taped covers a lot. They grade low, but can have fantastic eye appeal. Beautiful book, Ben thanks George

  18. you can afford another copy Ok, here's my current (and second copy I've ever owned) copy. There's a story behind every book and here it is as I was told: Mary was given 3 comics. She stored them at her parents house. She just discovered that one of the 3 comics was an original Batman #1 from 1940...Mary was a young (20 yrs?) lady traveling in Alaska. A male aquaintance asked her if she liked magazines. She said yes and he gave her 3 comic books. Batman # 1, Fight Comics #5 and Jumbo Comics #15 (all around same time period). Mary took back home to Washington state and stored them away. When going through her parents estate 40 years later she rediscovered the comics. After CGC and stopping briefly through two dealers, I acquired the book
