  1. I've held ray's copy in hand and its a great piece of Robinson history
  2. the gun holster and full webbed wingspan (quite different than 29) are underrated. We've talked many days on how the 29, 31, and even 35 have been selling at higher price points for several years now. 33 is still cool. Is that belief backed up by recent sales data? I am wondering what, if anything, you guys make of the recent auction results and sales the past few months when it comes to 29, 33, and 35: Heritage Auction: Tec 33, 8.0 (fourth highest graded, of three): $68.7K Heritage Auction: Tec 29, 2.0 $10.7K Heritage Auction: Tec 35, 1.5 $7.1K CC Auction: Tec 35, 7.5 (second highest graded, of one): $63K CC Exchange Sale: Tec 33, 1.5 $12.5K My Comic Shop: Tec 29, 1.5 unsold at $12.8K for months Ebay: Restored, raw Tec 35 unsold at $11.5K for months These recent results seem to suggest more of a parity in pricing to me. Yes they are only the most recent from the last few months, but all trends start somewhere. 31 still seems to be on another level, as always. Food for thought. -J. can't really compare price points for low to mid and high grade--they are all on different levels. Low grade must compare to low, mid to mid, high to high. I sold my 3.5 Tec 29 in the low 20s earlier this year which it traded hands a few times since at slightly more. And yes, the 31 has its own gravitational pull as do all quintessential covers I don't think I'll ever sniff a 31 in this lifetime . But yes, I did try to locate the sales in the 1.5-2.0 range along with the two comps in the 7.5-8.0 range. I just found the recent comparable sales data on the three books to be a bit intriguing. Not that 29 or 35 are losing ground, but 33 is perhaps making up a little. -J. 29s seem to have lost some steam the past year or so. I've seen a decent amount of copies circulate publicly. 31s have been far and few on the open market the past several months. 7.5 Tec 35 sold for $63k this evening. Pretty strong price.
  3. With blue 3.0ish copies currently sniffing 50K a pop. I would not hesitate to call it offending to own MORE than one copy of Bat1. This book is not for hoarding. Comic Connect auctioned off a 3.0 last night with off white/white pages for $35,500 but cover was grainy/stains. i took a little run on that one too, but it was lacking in eye appeal so you would gladly pay for for a lesser than 3.0 grade copy if superior eye appeal was present..? i would That seems to be the popular, perhaps wiser, trend especially with CGC books. Then again, you would pay for any darn good lookin batty 1 . How's the Arizona sun? It was nice. I was there just last night and until about noon today. Back in Philly, but heading to Cancun (Riviera Maya) tomorrow for some real fun in the sun. And some relaxation enjoy it Bill!

  7. Just love this cover, congrats Bill that is a keeper! I sometimes think if Kane drew the 33 as a night cover loaded with a full moon and rolling fog (like the 29 and 31), it would be in ranks with the 29/31 ....Or if one of the dudes in the car was holding a syringe to the other's neck. I personally dig all four of the "classic cover" pre Robin Tecs (29, 31, 33, 35). None of them come cheap, but I gave the 33 the nod for the first told 1930's Bats' "origin" story inside. -J. 33s are certainly a bargain compared to the others

  10. $3,106 pretty strong. I was guessing $2000-$2500 max.
  11. I'm sure you have a FMV in mind. $1200-$1500 my guess.
  12. presumably Winston is way ahead of comp from his on the field accomplishments...I mean, there really isn't even a close 2nd, is there true and then they flop as NFL QBs. I like Bridgewater from Louisville. He won't win it but he's fun to watch. bridgewater might get drafted high, but he will not be a successful NFL quarterback... at least it is obvious to me he wont what did you think of Russell Wilson before Seattle drafted him? 50/50 in the right offense. I give teddy 20/80 maybe. he's in the right offense that's for sure. Is Tebows NFL run done?

  15. Who wins the Heismann this month?
  16. low grade hulk 1s are going for $1500+ per point. Based on the image of the book posted, looks like 1.5-2.0 but without fully FC/BC scans and having book in hand its hard to grade. Assuming 1.5-2.0, $2300 is a decent price.
  17. it is very close right now first Joker should always keep Bat 1 slightly ahead of Cap 1, but the margin has tightened. If you should go for a Big book now would it be Cap1 or Bat1? which has most longterm upside as you see it? . I swapped my Cap 1 for a Bat 1 two summers ago, but not because the upside was tremendously favoring the Bat 1. I don't think you will be very far off with either book. They have, for the most part, been close in value with more Bat 1s than Cap 1s in total existence. The marvel movies has helped bring Cap more exposure so the gap has closed. Both great books though. I don't remember seeing your copy Ben, time to post it again here's your birthday favorite book Bill I remember now. I also remember that I am jealous you have owned more bat 1s than me buddy

Harshly graded indeed ... certainly eye appeal is pretty good for the grade

  21. would have been great if Kane placed the Joker on the cover, but at least the joker splash page on the interior is fantastic.
