  1. 2.0 Nice, day after Christmas full date stamp - typically, this book arrived in early Jan '63 but this particular newsstand had an early shipment.
  2. This appears to have been my only golden age pick up all year…but I do have 17 days to change that
  3. For a library, it's an accurate newsstand release time period for that full date stamp on the Mystic Comics 10.
  4. I just saw the movie this week, and I was looking for Everett’s name and missed it. Anyone have a photo of it? 🤔@Ameri
  5. Here are some Kirby covers in listing order: http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/creator.php?creatorid=6 http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/creator.php?creatorid=6&gallery=true
  6. The March 30 arrival date will have no bearing on the grade. If the BC is just as nice as the FC, it might garner a bump. I like it as it is. The OG labels are relics now.
  7. It is referring to the 1st S&K published cover. However, Red Raven 1 was also released in late May, 1940. The RR1 is always referred to as Kirby's first signed work (interior story Comet Pierce) as "Jack Kirby" and not under another pen name. The Mercury story was signed as his pen name Martin A. Bursten. I don't believe Simon did any of the pencils or inks on the RR1 cover..? @Ameri That said, I do believe the Champion 9 is the first published S&K cover and RR1 is an all Kirby cover.
  8. Good thoughts here Professor K. I will defer to @Ameri here as he has done a lot more research in this area of Kane/Moldoff. From my in depth discussions with @Ameri, Moldoff would often come into the DC offices to drop off his work while Kane would sign his name on all of them. Kane was a cartoonist and perhaps did the Batman work in Tec 27-28 (teddy bear looking), but in 29 onward the Batman takes on a more sharper, sinister appearance. Moldoff was all over the map though and was the chief Hawkman artist for Max Gaines with All-American comics...Moldoff certainly did most of the 1950s Tecs covers and Batman stories and all of those have the bOb Kane boxed signature. To me, the Kane sig was meant to show ownership and not his art work, which Shelley gladly did to support his family.
  9. yah, that Tec 13 splash panel is a nice swipe too, and only about 8 months apart.
  10. We know Shelley Moldoff was Kane's ghost artist for Batman with Bob's signature on everything @Ameri
  11. yup, I was just making a comment regarding the CF - I was not implying that was the problem with this particular copy
  12. Suspense 3 has always been a tricky page count with some copies printed without the CF and them having to glue the CF back in. It is a 56 page book (60 counting the covers), and not a standard 64 page (68 with covers) golden age book. So, the question might be which third party grading company may have miscounted the pages?
