  1. you guys are making me want a # 3 again it's the best cover in the 3-10 run IMO..love that Nazi Torpedo Plant party. checks coming.
  2. Holy cow What a sale that was!! Definitely blew away my expectations bodes well for any other 4.0s out there Batter up: hurry up and hit the BIN on this DK so you can retire. http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fitems%2Easp%3Fid%3D3855&id=884001 That's a great one. DK should try and get a 0% percent finance and take this puppy home. I know. for a Pre Robin collector looking exclusively for 4.0 blue labels, I don't know why he is so hesitant on this 27?

  4. Holy cow What a sale that was!! Definitely blew away my expectations I remember when that same book was listed on Comiclink approx. 6-7 years ago for 6K. It sat and it sat. How times have changed. Detective Comics 35 is definitely one of THE classic covers , but prices for this book have gone bzuuurk over last couple years.... George!

  6. the 2 is more in demand than the 3...I've only owned 3 copies of 2 in the past 15 years (of course seen more for sale during that time) and yes only 1 copy of the 3...I have not posted my ex- #3 here before. I will have to dig it up...
  7. Tougher than 19 or 21 IMO Really? Interesting. I have not actively watched in a little while but I saw 4-5 copies of 19&21 for every copy of 18 I saw ( at the time). There has been a ton of 19's and 21's hit the market in the last 2 years. I defintely think that certain issues are harder to come by [perhaps only because they have better covers?] such as #7. Same goes for All Select #2, so hard to find a copy for sale. All Select 2 is a tough find for sale..so is # 3... I have seen many more all select 2's than 3's ...in fact, I was able to purchase a nice 3 from a friend recently...and my really nice 2 is in a boardies possession as well, if I recall I have seen less 3s than 2s over the past 15 yrs for sure. I've only owned one 3 and that was 11 yrs ago which came back 4.5 ow-w. I only like covers 1-3 and have had no desire owning 4-10. The 3 loses some appeal to me as it's a "little" book in size compared to the 1 or 2.
  8. Sean...thats the copy..i think a boardee from Georgia bought from rick a few years back.

  10. Very much like the presentability on this book (+ date stamp!) for a 5.0... full date stamp on a Timely!!!!!!
  11. Great score! +1 Nice looking book! that is a nice solid copy. No info to share where you got it from ? from the comic book fairy (thumbs u yep
  12. 3 is second to 13 and 12...there have been only 3 issues of 13 I have seen for sale in the past 6 years or so, 4 copies of issue 12, and 5 copies of issue 3... that is why I rank them in that order (thumbs u Interesting b/c there are 11 unrestored #13s on the census. And for example only 5 unrestored #9s. I would bet that there are possibly less 3s in existence than 12s or 13s..13 just has more demand due to the Supe cover compared to 3 or 12, so it seems scarcer. They are all very tough. I will say, after I let my blue 4.0 #13 go back in 2007, I have not seen another blue label #13 for sale publicly (except for a 1.0 on eBay I think)...
  13. Flessel's Pre Bat Tec cover run would be good competition..
  14. so cool I don't think they had Cap costumes back in the early 40s. Unless this was taken much later into the late 60s.
  15. because the blue label Pre Robins are hotter and too expensive
  16. I faxed in my LOI lemme guess...U of Florida MIT didn't recruit me Stanford rejected me if that makes ya feel better
  17. I faxed in my LOI lemme guess...U of Florida
  18. well, I could have bought them for 100 baht, or just rented for 20 baht...pretty sure renting was the "right" decision cheap either way
  19. Welcome back, did you change? What did you gain from your trip?(besides 2 weeks of emails) Learn anything? What did you do? Where did you stay? How did you help? I didn't change in philosophy , so to speak, though I believe I grew as a person, gained knowledge and appreciation of what we have here in the states ...I gained an incredible understanding of just what really happens in some of these 3rd world countries... I learned some Thai... I shared meals and testimonies and philosophies with staunch Budists parents of Christian children,...I helped paint churches, I taught english to school children, etc... we stayed a few days in Bangkok, and a week+ between Chiang Mai and Mae Wong village... I hope we were a positive influence on those we came in contact with, only time will tell.. hardest part for me was being away from my family for 2 weeks~!
