  1. Ahh the Detroit Trolley copy.. I'm wondering why the consigner has this book up on auction already. This was bought not too long ago at CC yah, 2.5 that could have been had for $5500 in 2005 on eBay...
  2. Very nice! I love those later Timely's with the SA Marvel feel to them and the Marvel logo too bad Cap didn't have xray vision he probably doesn't know what it is since Marvel guys don't have out with DC heroes too often
  3. wonder where that 4.5 copy has been hiding out all this time...
  4. we are faa-mil-y...! I got all my sistas and me!
  5. I'm shocked that there was no narrative, with a mind-numbingly long market pricing analysis, coupled by personal anecdotes of each copy his owned and sold and could have gave a quick tutorial on "GAtor's point grading-pricing" theory
  6. ahh, Subby #1 smack in the middle..interesting how clothes pins were used to hang/display comics...wonder where this pic was taken? Circa early 1941...
  7. hard to see Jeff, but Timely-wise, should be a Cap 3 on that rack somewhere.
  8. yah leave it as is until an upgrade surfaces. (thumbs u Looks like the book would have been about a 3.5/4.0 if the logo was not sliced.
  9. 7000 profit (7500 less 500 in expenses associated with the purchase/sale of the book) off a 20,000 purchase =35%...7000 profit, relative to your sale/retail is 7000/27500= approx 25.45% sounds like you did earn your econ degree from U of F We just went over that in 7th grade pre-algebra (thumbs u my first BSBA is in finance ...got my second degree so I could stay in school when spurrier got there in 1990

  11. I sell a Tec 31 for $27.5k, and I paid $20k for it. My overhead is $500. What is my percent profit based on the cost and on the selling price?
  12. I have seen same issues with date stamps a month apart...could have been transit time, could have been local distributor delays, could have been newstands issues... not sure anyone has really every researched in depth... what we have to keep in mind is that the 4 color printing process that occured in the 1930's and 40's is relatively simplistic compared to today's technology... even Timely comics used former chesler/centaur printing facilities to produce books...so, multiple printers could have been (and likely were) used...but, they were still fairly regionally located together, so I have never heard, say, of there being superman 1's printed in NY and CAL in the same month...anyone else have more info, please share only thing I know is that the arrival date stamped on a comic and the publishing date on the comic can be anywhere from 1-3 months apart. full date stamps
  13. Congratulations! Was this the 4.0 at NYCC Rick? nope, that sold summer, if I recall... I only had 4 at NYCC, and one of them sold, so down to 3 (one I am keeping, the other 2 will be sold on ebay this month) is that the 5 billionth copy printed/sold by you in the last year?
