  3. Actually, I am pretty sure Whitman did those, not Eisner. Adamstrange would know... According OSPG, aside from #1, it's Eisner or Eisner/Grandenetti covers Angelo Yeah October and I were discussing this and we weren't 100% sure. I'd like to hear a board member's opinion on this as OS has been wrong before! I'm pretty familiar with Eisner's linework, and I'd say that the cover on #3 is him. At the very least, he did the layouts or breakdowns. Although, the skeleton may be the hand of someone else. But I'd say that the other figures are by Eisner. That being said, I've been wrong before Angelo So definitly not Grandenetti? I should have explained myself better. I wouldn't rule out another hand like Grandenetti. The Spirit's face doesn't look like "true" Eisner and, like I said, the skeleton doesn't look to be by him either. But I'd say that the scientist and woman look like Eisner with another hand inking his pencils, possibly Grandenetti. Angelo
  4. I bought this from Stephen Ritter about 8, or so, months ago. Angelo

  7. In my opinion, any Spirit book is a nice book Mine's about a 6.5 or so, but I love it nonetheless. Angelo
  8. For a such a short run, it had some great Eisner covers. Angelo
  9. I'll see your Fiction House.... Angelo
  10. Hey, super sweet Fiction House, Jayman! It was a short run, but some great art on those covers. Congrats! Angelo
  11. That's a sweet book, Jayman. Awesome cover! Angelo

  13. This one, my favorite of the run IIRC. This cover has more depth with 3 distinct levels and benefits from both 1) the frame inside a frame aspect of the furnace opening (and notice how Heck also added a window in the back to help with the perspective) and 2) the coloring contrast of red on black + the red recalls the red from the logo. Hands down the better of the two covers IMNSHO. Yeah, what Scrooge said and it's just so heinously evil Both those covers are so awesome! Angelo
  14. You going for a run in 9.4, or just issues here and there? Angelo
  15. Man, that's an incredible one day pick up Congrats! Angelo
  16. Congrats!! That's a phenomenal pickup!! Thanks,Steve. Maybe one day my collection will rival yours Angelo Keep buying mine and it will Yeah, no joke. You're like an escrow account: holding onto those pre-heroes for me until I buy them from you Angelo
  17. Luscious! Thanks for the kind words Angelo
  18. Congrats!! That's a phenomenal pickup!! Thanks,Steve. Maybe one day my collection will rival yours Angelo
  19. Loved the early issues with John Bolton art in the back-up stories. Congrtats Angelo
  20. That'd be great. Put it in the GA section. Absolutely will Angelo
  21. Are you actually going to go after the Sundays? I want to, but....geez....that's a lot of time and money..... You are correct, sir. I got my first section in the mid 80's at the old Chicago Comic Con, and I've been collecting since. I try to keep my run to VF or better, outside of the first section & last eleven. The fun is in the chase. You could put together an impressive run if you stick to low/mid grade copies, but where's the fun in that? Angelo
  22. Yup he is and that's a lofty goal. Good luck with the chase I own a single Sunday section - Sweet section As soon as I get my scanner (in a couple of weeks), I'm gonna start a thread where I'll post all my sections and add to it as I get more. Angelo
  23. Not to dismiss the book - its beautiful, and nicer than mine - but I've always preferred full covers to split or multi-panel covers. I wonder if they were Kirby's concept, Stan's or a Martin Goodman edict akin to Irwin Donenfeld's decision for recurring ape covers. I believe Kirby did as he pleased. Not quite sure if the Marvel method was in effect at this point in time, but I'm pretty sure Stan didn't interject too much. As for panel covers, some are better than others. I think it works to great effect on a cover like TOS #23 Angelo White Mountain copy? Don't I wish. I believe adamstrange has all of them Angelo Some of them have gotten away. Way too many, unfortunately. Maybe so, but the ones you do have are pretty darn outstanding Angelo
