  1. Wow, that's gorgeous! Much nicer than my 6.5 Angelo
  2. Who's in this incarnation of the band? Is it the original line-up? Angelo
  3. Was Jane's the better show? By far. Jane's rocked the house. The Pumpkins had been playing for about 6 months before that, and it showed. Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain were good, but D'Arcy and James Iha were God awful. They got heckled, too. A lot of calls for "Freebird" and such. Angelo
  4. Saw the Pumpkins when they opened for Jane's Addiction on 23 Nov 1988. I hear they became pretty popular after that. Still have the ticket from that show. Angelo
  5. I never knew that before. Interesting stuff Much to learn, you have. Young Jedi.... Beautiful copy! Is that a White Mountain? Angelo
  6. And what makes you so sure you haven't found your Sherlock Holmes? Always nice to meet another collector with impeccable taste! Seeing as how you're the one with the books, you're probably right Angelo
  7. I see I have found my Dr. Moriarty. I was eyeing that Space Adventures #33 and I was the underbidder on that Spirit section. Well done, my friend Angelo
  8. Man, I'm so jealous! Can you bring this on Monday, too? Angelo
  9. Old 78's are typically found with scratches, pops, and hisses which can be very annoying when you try to listen to them. Fortunately we live in a day and age when an ever growing amount of vintage music is being digitized and is now relatively easy to find and is very affordable. I'm especially fond of the JSP Records box set releases. Take a listen to some samples at Amazon.com:Paramount Masters 4 CD Set: Song Samples Incidentally, boxed sets are on sale tomorrow at Borders at 40% off list price. Check online for coupons. From the jazz side of things, Timeless Records is a label out of the Netherlands that loves its old school jazz. They take loving care to remaster and issue some very rare and obscure jazz recordings http://www.timelessjazz.com/shop/ You can always buy their cds at these two websites http://www.cdconnection.com/bin/nph-home http://www.cduniverse.com/default.asp?cart=317235527&style=music Sorry for adding to the derailment of this thread. Angelo
  10. You were fortunate to find so many great records at one time. Were there any Black Swan or Gennett discs in that collection? Hey, BZ, I bet you have an unplayed copy of "Zulus Ball" in your collection. Angelo
  11. I'm really amazed at the vastness and depth of your collection: comics, OA, pulps, HC's, movie posters, records. What else do you collect? Do you have a vintage automobile collection, too? Angelo
  12. Nah, that would be EASY. I'm thinking some Sun Records label Elvis 45s, maybe a couple Warlock albums. Oh, and the original Robert Johnson 78s from 1937. If you do pull those out, btw, I'm going to have a heart attack. If it wasn't so late, I'd be tempted to post a photo of my Blind Lemon Jefferson on Paramount or a group of Sun Records. Instead...this will have to do. The Beatles first recording (promo copy). Now I'm impressed! Forget all those old funny books, this is something to show off (just kidding, of course). But that is amazing! Angelo
  13. How come the cover is signed "A.S. Bryant"? Is that a pseudonym Crandall used? By the way, gorgeous book Angelo A very nice cover, indeed, Angelo. Al Bryant did a lot of covers for Quality and many of them are quite good -- good enough even that when they aren't signed some people mistake his work for Crandall's. Thanks for the clarification. You're right, hadn't you explained it to me I would've thought it was Crandall. Beautiful work, regardless. Angelo
  14. That's a sweet copy Reminds me of the seen in "The Birds" where they find the farmer in his bedroom with his eyes pecked out. Angelo
  15. How come the cover is signed "A.S. Bryant"? Is that a pseudonym Crandall used? By the way, gorgeous book Angelo
  16. Yeah, another boring, high grade, pedigree Thor. Hey wait Angelo
  17. Im too focused on my X-Men run right now but thats a sweet looking book It's also not a 9.8 Angelo That only applies to copper and modern books. My grade prefered range is different for Bronze and Silver. I figured as much. Just a little Angelo
  18. Im too focused on my X-Men run right now but thats a sweet looking book It's also not a 9.8 Angelo
  19. Nice book, thought about that one but I'm probably going to sell most of my BA Cap's and focus more on GA stuff. Have some real nice Rosa/Winnipeg copies, mostly in CGC 9.8. I'm thinking of doing the same thing, selling BA to focus on SA/GA. Except mine aren't 9.8, just measly ole 9.4-9.6 Angelo
  20. That is a sweet book. You gonna buy it? Angelo
  21. Sweet book, Jayman! It's been on page 2 of my short list ever since I saw members post their copies. Angelo
  22. OMFG!!! That's an incredible haul for one weekend! Angelo
