  1. There is NO problem with the list. The List is working as designed. EVERYONE can see what a doodoo-move primeinvestibles pulled and their selling reputation for said move will suffer. I mean it is almost as bad as sticking yer fingers in yer ears and saying nanny-nanny-boo-boo. No need to Over-Regulate the list and add even more layers of obfuscation and have to pick one KEYMASTER of the list to regulate it. The list should be Simple. Comments in this thread should engender discussion and the appropriate steps should be taken. It is not too hard to figure this out.
  2. 30 days is 30 days, not one day + extenuating circumstances... The rule of thumb should cover everyone uniformly
  3. I am gearing up on my JFK assassination history in preparation for release of Stephen King's 11/22/63 in November. I also want to get ahold of and read James W Douglass' JFK and the Unspeakable; Why He Died and Why it Matters. I heard Oliver Stone pimp that book on a PBS program once.
  4. Tell us what the outcome of the JFK book is once you finish it. Have you ever seen the film they made of REH's life? Yes, The Whole Wide World is based on Novalyne Price Ellis' memoir One Who Walked Alone, her book about her relationship with REH. The film is pretty good. Although it emphasizes more of a romance angle than being a straight up REH Biopic, it is still interesting. I have a copy of One Who Walked Alone and will probably begin reading that soon.
  5. I just finished the definitive REH Biography Blood & Thunder: The Life & art of Robert E Howard by Mark Finn. Great Read! and I am reading A Legacy of Secrecy: The Long Shadow of the JFK Assassination by Lamar Waldron.
  6. AMC sure seems to be getting too big for their own britches... They have had some great shows coming out over the past few years and now it seems that their suits might screw it all up. Darabont leaving will give Kirkman a bigger chance to have his stamp on the show, but some of the suggestions of the network seem to be ludicrous (like shooting half of the show indoors) I think this is bad news.
  7. You mean that 1000 page behemoth full of legalese and endless back and forth over what should and shouldn't be the rules? I remember when that thread was entertaining . You could go there and read some good old fashioned witch burnings! (kinda like the old pulps)
  8. Does anyone know if the Complete Invincible Vol 3 HC has been solicited for pre-order yet?
  9. does anyone know if Walking Dead Omnibus Vol 4 has been solicited for pre-order yet?
  10. That looks fun. Also, all this Martin talk. I suppose I'll try him next year. This is what I'm reading at present: Against Nature: A Rebours Kurzweil was recently on Bill Maher's show and his demeanor and intelligence blew me away. After I was introduced to him on Real Time, I watched his Documentary Transcendent Man, which is streaming on Netflix now, and really enjoyed that too. Not only is he a futurist thinker, he also is an inventor and holds many patents (including the "Kurzweil" synthesizer and also a cell phone sized device that scans a book and reads it in that computer voice for the blind) Really looking forward to reading that book.
  11. All I can say is A Song of Ice and Fire series kicks ! Big Ups to George R R Martin. I am halfway done with A Storm of Swords and have recently finished A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings I am getting ready to start reading two nonfiction books which I am really looking forward to. The Singularity is Near by Ray Kurzweil and The Psychopath Test: A Journey through the Madness Industry by Jon Ronson (author of The Men Who Stare at Goats)
  12. Aye Carumba! Me neither. How much was it going for at the show?
  13. My first contribution to this thread! "That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die."
  14. Not a hall of shame worthy offense. Hall of Shame needs to be EGREGIOUS and/or RECIDIVIST. Getting him put on the probie list is essentially the same thing, though. That dude probably isnt coming back and I doubt you will be willing to allow him off of the probie list, sensing how burned you feel. I suggest that attempting to make a deal with this guy at all (who by all inferences seemed like a very sketchy character) was a bad move on your part. Consider yourself lucky. You may have had a deal sold out from under you, but there is also a decent chance that that deal could turn sour anyways since this guy is a tool. Count your blessings that you didn't end up with a load of restored books. Handshake deals are a thing of the past. If you are uncomfortable carrying a large amount of cash around, carry a gun. Ring the joker up on the probie list and console yourself with the fact that even though you may have missed out on a good deal, you also protected yourself from a potential bad deal. Other Deals will come... Caveat Emptor.
  15. I'm not sure if I agree that L&K had a better chance than Chew. Alot of people don't know this, but Frank Darabont had alot of interest in this before The Walking Dead. But, Joe (rumored) didn't want his involvement, because of majority efforts involving his father's works. Whether, true or not, I'm hoping for a possible movie project from someone as influential. I couldn't see the Locke kids battling Dodge week to week anyway, without looking redundant. If they had a variety of villians working with Dodge, it might have worked better(like Buffy), but this "project" was doomed from get go. I'm just hoping Danny(MutantKeys) picks me up a Joe Hill autographed bootleg L&K promo DVD at SDCC this year. Can you elaborate on this? What do you mean by "majority efforts"? First I have heard of this. I think Frank Darabont has been ultimately the most successful adapter of King's works to film. I am surprised he didn't get the Dark Tower.
  16. Why the hell wasn't the tv show slated to run on FX instead of Fox? Seems like the perfect addition to their catalog.
  17. Wait, is DiceX on vaca right now?
  18. Still haven't gotten a pm. I guess that's because I had a crush on Mary Lou Retton as a child...
  19. I would like an order of meltdown with a side of fries, delivered by pm, please...
