  1. I think any newsstand in 9.8 is pretty hard to find. I've got tons of them from the early 80's when I'd buy them of the rack at the local drug store and I'd say at least 80% of them have varying degrees of creases in them from the book racks. Congrats on your find!
  2. Took a chance on a Conan eBay lot and to my surprise the 58 was the best of the bunch.
  3. It depends, In the case of HUlk 180 and 181 there is the cameo appearance in 180 vs 1st Full appearance plus 1st cover appearance in 181. Both important comics but 181 seems to be the clear fan favorite and more substantial of both. Then you have things like ASM 238 and 239 where you have what probably should be considered a 1st cameo app. of Hobgoblin in 238 but you have a great 1st cover appearance also so that one becomes the favorite. Then you have cases like Conan 23 and 24 where it was incorrectly cited for many many years that 23 was a cameo which it wasn't, Red Sonja appears in most of the book and 24 was cited as 1st appearance but in actuality its just the first cover appearance, which caused the value to flip flop on those 2 books once the word got out. So you are correct and it can be very confusing, my advice is to read the books before making the big investment and decide for yourself which is the more important. Hope that helps.
  4. Just for further reference, here's Conan 58. To me the hair color and style and also facial structure look like the Valeria of the time, in GSC 1, but as you pointed out the garment style is closer to Belit. Might be worthy of a first mention of Belit maybe but not much more than that in my opinion. (disclaimer: I have both Comics mentioned )
  5. A friend of mine gave me a bunch of raw comics including this one in the late 80's. Stuffed it in a bag and it's been in my collection since.
  6. You were way better than me. Here's one I bought when I was like 10 or 11 and yours is in better shape I think. The ones I got when I was 7 are mostly dust now.
  7. Marvel Super Special 9 - 9.0 OWW $12Savage Sword of Conan Annual 1 - 9.2 OWW $20
  8. Yea he flip flopped a lot in the bronze age. Was kind of annoying but maybe he was running for Marvel Universe President or something in the 70's
  9. Yea same. I had a lot of them off the rack but I was like 8 and had no concept or concern of proper comic book care back then. I read them to death and the few that survived look like rags now.
  10. Fantastic Four 81 - 6.0 OW $12 *cover detached bottom staple
