  1. I'm still in my 30's and back into OA after having to take a few years away from the hobby. I'm also tired enough from these young kids that I got a solid chuckle at the prospect of being considered the next generation of anything. I usually feel about as fresh as The Cryptkeeper 😆
  2. I know 1980 straddles the line between bronze and copper for some, so I figured I'd post in the forum with the more active newsstand thread. I'm getting up to speed on them (being relatively new to this particular rabbit hole), and came across this auction listing: https://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3DX%2Dmen%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_1435561&id=1435561&itemType=0 Is this actually a newsstand book? Or does the line through the upc code indicate its actually a direct edition? Sorry if this ones been covered...
  3. This is in that grey area between copper and modern depending on your definition, so here's where it lands for now!
  4. Not much surprises me any more, so that certainly wouldn't if that were the case...
  5. It did. That's what I get for knocking the price. I'll take my helping of crow with a side of sweet potatoes and stuffing, thank you very much 😆 The same seller has the 9.6 listed for $10k now.
  6. And hey, goes to show what I know about pricing lol- heritage internet bidding is already up over $9k with the buyers premium
  7. Guilty as charged . Thanks! Ironically, later that day it looks like someone pulled the trigger on the other 9.6, the deal didn't close for whatever reason, and it got re-listed. The seller bumped the price up on that one to $5k, and it happens to be the same person listing the 9.8 for the $12k now.
  8. Pretty wild ask considering I just got a 9.6 for $2.5k back in September.
  9. Wow, this is a stunning thread. It makes me come pretty close to cursing my blood for being too common to sell for big bucks
  10. You know it! And one more for a little garnish:
  11. With the show filming, im getting hyped. Time to wake this thread up from its slumber!
  12. Primarily interested to browse any Eric Powell pieces, Simpsons cels, or Budd Root art. I didn't have a ton of dry powder, but am always willing to reshuffle for the right piece. Mainly, the whole thing just sounded pretty awesome to check out. I'll be sure not to miss the next one.
  13. I can't say this is the rarest by any stretch, but I don't think it's all that common, either. This cover is a classic for me, though
  14. Rats! I was unavailable this weekend and completely missed this. Is there any way to see what was available, or am I flat out of luck?
  15. Both. Caliber Presents would be worth more than it is if the front and back covers were swapped, and there'd be less of them on the market. Crow #1 is rarer, but the effect is also amplified because collectors are less likely to sell thanks to that iconic cover.
  16. Also, one last bit- offers welcome, but an in this thread trumps all PM negotiations!
  17. Alright, I've goofed up enough, time to get this right! Asking for $840, shipping included. Great look for the grade! The lowdown: 1) boon will be shipped via usps priority mail. Signature upon receipt included. Tracking info will be disclosed to you and book will be dispatched the first business day payment clears. 2) payment via PayPal g&s or check/money order 3) sales final on CGC graded books. 4) No HoS'ers
  18. Couldn't say no. This book is still nice and cheap since the markets for Miracleman and V for Vendetta are ice cold , so I was happy to BIN at $525
  19. There were 500 copies of the NYCC convention variant and 250 copies of the SDCC con variant. I couldn't pin down a total for the normal first printing
  20. Final bump, auctions end soon today These aren't easy books to come by in open auction settings, as most sellers aren't crazy enough to list them with minimal starting bids with no reserves. Take advantage of that craziness and get yourself a bargain!
