  1. A batch of Navy Stories & Submarine Stories I picked up a few years ago.
  2. A rare bedsheet title - Movie Thrillers 12/24, 1/25 and 5/25. Condition is not great, but very hard to find in any condition.
  3. Some Dare-Devil Aces I picked up a few years ago (May through August 1936), including some file copies.
  4. A few nice issues of Dare-Devil Aces from May through August 1936, including a few file copies, that I picked up a few years ago.
  5. Here's one of rare paperbacks that will be auctioned in the Friday night auction (May 6, 2022) at this year's Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention (May 6-8, 2022 at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in Lombard, Illinois). This one is exceedingly scarce -- "The Human Bat v The Robot Gangster" by Edward R. Home-Gall, published in London by Mark Goulden Ltd. in 1950. As the blurb on the back cover says, "...it provides hours of exciting reading as only Edward Home-Gall can write." Who am I to argue? Besides our auctions, the dealer room will feature 180 tables filled with pulps, paperbacks, vintage comics, original illustration art and much more, from dealers across the U.S., Canada and the U.K. We hope to see you there!

  8. About 20 years ago, I was fortunate enough to be able to buy about three dozen copies of Spicy Mystery, several of which were in very nice shape. Here's some of 'em - 6/35, 10/35, 11/35, 2/36, 3/36, 4/36 and 11/36.

  10. Here's the back cover for Planet Stories March 1943, which I just shot from my copy.
  11. I was lucky enough to buy that painting several years ago.
  12. And while I'm at, the first issue of Black Aces, January 1932.
  13. Black Aces was a short-lived title (7 issues) that's scarce today. Here's the July 1932 issue -- they got away with putting a female nude on the cover by making her a statue.
  14. Well, if anyone's looking for a nicer copy of the March 1951 Planet Stories, this copy will be in the Friday night auction (held May 6, 2022) at the Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention (May 6-8, 2022 at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center). Actually, the auction will contain a complete run of Planet Stories, from the estate of Robert Weinberg. Besides the great stuff in the auction, there's also 180 tables worth of pulps and other goodies in the dealer room.
  15. Rearranging a few things today -- here's a stack of 79 issues of Gay Parisienne.
  16. My shelves of the four Spicy titles - Adventure, Detective, Mystery & Western - as well as the Saucy pulps. I'm still looking for the December 1940 Spicy Western to complete my runs of the four Spicy titles.

  18. The good news is that you've got two different chances to find this cover. Besides its first appearance, it also appeared on the February 1937 issue of Paris Gayety. However, while I've had a few copies of the December 1934 issue over the years, I've only been able to find one copy of the 2/37 issue.
  19. Cover for the July 1936 issue of The American News Trade Journal, with some nice pulp titles featured.
  20. Here's a rejection postcard I picked up many years ago, from Weird Tales and its sister pulp, Detective Tales. It was from Edwin Baird, listed as the editor of both pulps, so has to date from 1923 or early 1924. On the reverse he's written a brief note, and initialed it. The postcard was sent to Mr. L.B. Pride of Culver City, California. As far as I can tell, Pride never had anything published, but I have a number of rejection slips from various publishers that he collected during the 1920's.
  21. A nice pulp feature that ran in the July 1924 issue of The American News Trade Journal. Would love to have copies of each of these!
  25. A complete set of Fiction House's Air Stories that I picked up a few years ago.
