I sent in a few CGC Green slabs for encapsulation with the new JSA Authentication slabs. I do confess that I am a bit disappointed and confused with this grade drop. No grader's notes other than the authentication. I thought it still looked pretty nice when I sent it in.

Oh man...that much of a drop?  Makes you wonder if the Green 9.8 was the wrong grade.  Still with no grader notes, that is awful.  I would contact support to have them revisit this and check and hopefully state reason for drop.  This is a bad precedent for authenticating.

Has anyone's books made any progress from the Wolverine 50th signing?

I sent in a book for Claremont for the Claremont/Austin signing and it's been 'Received at CCS' since mid-January... (shrug) I assume the books for the Claremont/Austin signing were just shuffled to the W50 signing...

Based on the social media posting, signing occurred early May, so the timeline starts.  Since you have pressing, add 6 weeks and you are looking for pressing to be done around mid to late June and then getting slabbed so it may very well be July.

If i have a comic with the JSA sticker on it and submit it to JSA/cgc to get graded will the stick that is on the inside of the book ( not visible unless you open it.) Will that count against my grade?

It should not.  It should get the CGC SS yellow label.  See this from the FAQ

What if my autograph was previously witnessed by JSA?

If your autograph was witnessed by CGC or JSA (as part of the JSA Witness Protection Program (WPP)), your comic will receive the CGC Signature Series label, unless your comic also has an unwitnessed autograph. If your comic has both witnessed and unwitnessed autographs — and they are all genuine — your comic will receive the CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph label.

If your autographed collectible has a JSA WPP sticker on it, you should select “CGC Grading” as your submission type and “JSA Autograph Authentication” as an add-on service when filling out the CGC online submission form. JSA autograph authentication fees still apply because JSA must reverify the authenticity of the autograph and JSA WPP sticker. If the autograph and JSA WPP sticker are genuine, your comic will be automatically encapsulated with the CGC Signature Series label, which will identify the signer’s name and the date signed. This information, along with a notation that the signature was witnessed by JSA, will also be displayed in the grader notes on the CGC website.

Do we ship a window bag for signatures with the already slabbed comics?

If you want the signature in a specific area of the book, create your own and send it in with the slab.  They will crack the slab and place book in the window bag.  If you do not ship one with the slab, they will place in their own bag and creator will sign wherever they want.

    Hi,

I have Batman KnightFall books. Interested in getting them signed by Kelley Jones, Jim Aparo or Doug Moench. I noticed that they don't appear east coast conventions or CGC In-House signing. Any Suggestions? Thanks

Reach out to Rich Henn who is a CGC SS facilitator.  He has a private signing with Moench at the end of the month.  Check with him if you can still submit.  His form on the submission is still there to fill out but best to contact him.  Good luck.

I had my ASM 129 signed by Gerry Conway at a comic con several years ago & submitted to CGC.

The book came back a lower grade than I expected (thanks in part to the facilitator who got tape stuck on my front cover).

I don't know if there was pressing even offered back then, but I would love to have it pressed & re-graded.

Since it's a Sig Series that CGC witnessed the signature of, I would hope that this would be possible, but would like to know for sure before I take any steps to have this done.

Anybody know if this is possible?

Yes but you will have to submit the slab to CGC and have CCS press it.

Its been a while since  I submitted anything. I wanted to submit a concert poster and says I need to pay for upgrade membership. I see a $25 option or a $149 option with $150 credit. I wont be submitting alot maybe just 1 poster, can credit be used on 1st submission? Can credit be used on sent items at different times and broken up if I send one item now and another down the road? Just trying to understand how this $150 credit works and can be used before I purchase one of the upgrades. thanks  (also emailed but didnt here back so figure I try here)

The credit is good for the full year that you signed up or renewed for a paid membership.  It will be applied to each submission until you have used up the entire credit.  The credit is not limited to just slabbing.  It can be used against Pressing.  The negative of the credit is keeping track of it.  It is not listed or documented in your account though the deduction will appear in your invoice you receive for each submission.  You can always reach out to them for a status update if needed and if you noticed the credit was not applied, they are also good at applying credit if they forget to.

Just got an email yesterday about Dan Slott, Humberto Ramos and Edgar Delgado being available for signatures, remarks, etc.  How does this pricing compare to what you'd be able to find at Comic Cons?  I just ordered some Spider-Boy #1 variants, so am interested to hear opinions.

From what I have seen, it is about the same (or better deal as you do not need to spend money to attend con and not need to wait in line :)).

Will only speak about signatures and Ramos.  Very nice person if you get the chance to meet and speak with him.  Very friendly.  He charges in the last couple of cons I have been to anywhere from $20-$25 a book.  If you want to get it slabbed (the price will be on the higher end), you will need to find a facilitator (if CGC is not there) who will witness and submit for you for their fee and the CGC SS submission fees per book. It will be submitted under their account. For my last one, was $65 a book.  If you want pressing, they will charge $20-$25 book.  Add it up, generally close to the CGC SS signing they offer.

Note, if you do go to the con, go to his table and find out when his signing is. It is limited and line will be long when it happens. People line up early.  Then go and book the facilitator to arrange witness signing.  Don't be surprised if you cannot get book signed (due to other signings you may have booked or line is too long that signing will end while you are still in line) In that case, you will need to either drop off books with facilitator to get it signed for you or look for another time slot and try again.

my sketch is still stuck in SFG, the books at CCS jumped from GEI to Shipped

    image.thumb.png.a70c96329d44fe263136b37b7cc17bdc.png

All that is left is the sketch/remarq which is still sitting at SFG

Grader Notes on a 9.8?  Can you share what was written?  Sure it would have been nicer to get it for the 9.6 :)

  10. I have run into this in the past.  The issue is "Uncanny", that selection needs to be remove/fix.  You should select Marvel Comics X-Men #133 5/80.  Add button will be available.  If you look out on ebay and search that title, you will see the label is just X-Men and not Uncanny X-Men.

    Some of my submissions:

Signature only books: completed and shipped 1/2 (arrived in hand 1/4)

    Remarq/Sketch: Still sitting in SFG

CCS: signed, completed by CCS, checked in by CGC 1/3 as SFG, updated to GEI 1/4

Your update gives me small hope there will be movement soon for my single book for just a signing. My triple signed book is still at status Received at CCS.

Got my Campbell yesterday it doesn't look to bad than what the picture they took but still no graders notes on why it's a 9.6 oh and the book moves in the slab I know that's not good. So what is the process to send it back ?

This would be considered a Mechanical Error (ME) and would get free shipping.  The form is found under regular grading submission.   Just in case, I would send a post to the Ask CGC as this is a CGC SS.  Not sure how that is handled if differently.  I have only done Universal ME.

Geez how are people already able to get there Jim Lee slabs back and in hand? Only sent 1 comic in for signature by him and always said revived 10/24/2023

And just says : received by CGC

Was like most people hoping to be able to give it as a Christmas gift but no luck

You have to assume they did not elect to have pressing with their order which will add time to your order (2-4 weeks additional time).  If you added pressing, it will have status of Received at CCS (think that is what you meant).  If it was in grading, it would be Schedule for Grading.

  14. Noticed this comment on the Ask CGC forum which I was not aware of,

from the 13th-21st we had an office move as we transferred into a new facility that could better fit our needs and future growth. This may affect the total turnaround time as well.

Mine has been in GEI for some time and with the comment above and add the holiday, may explain lack of progress.
