  1. Yep. The #21 I ended up buying was graded just last month. "First Appearance of FF Zombies" I'm guessing with #22, "First Appearance Marvel Zombies" was the only alternative to listing all the other character 1st zombie appearance. 1st appearance zombie spider man 1st appearance zombie wolverine 1st appearance zombie... They Would be run out of space real quick. Should've listed 21 as 1st appearance Marvel Zombies because, well...its the 1st time we see a Marvel Zombie.
  2. Im browsing ebay for a graded copy of UFF21. I noticed that CGC credits #21 as first app of Fantastic Four zombies while crediting #22 as first app of Marvel zombies. What am i missing here? Are the FF zombies not Marvel zombies? So which book, in your oppinion, is the one to own long term in a 9.8? Comics go Collect has #21 as the big $$$ book right now but could that change?
  3. Im only on issue 77 of TWD and have the rest to read. I have Spawn 1 - 100 that Ive never read. Savage Dragon 1 - 100 that Ive never read. And just purchased the complete Marvel Zombies collection so... ...wouldnt be a bad time to twist an ankle and miss a few weeks of work.
  4. Thanks for the input. I'm trying to decide which to keep and which to sell off. The darker edges are messing with my OCD. 😆
  5. Could a bad press be responsible for it or is it more likely the book wasn't bagged for a long period if time?
  6. So the edges do not matter when assessing page color?
  7. Not the cover but the top and bottom of the inner pages.
  8. I have here 2 graded copies of Spidey 298. They were both graded to have WP. By looking at the top and bottom it's easy to Ser that one has bright white pages while the other seems much darker by comparison. Does CGC take the top and bottom into consideration when determining page color or just the inside pages? The darker pages is actually the higher graded book at 9.2 and the brighter one is am 8.5. I'd also like to add that they were both graded in 2020. What do you all think?
  9. Yeah, that would bother me too. I dont have the answer for you, im actually piggy backing on you because I wonder the same thing. I have a sig series book that is in a very old case and I wouldnt mind having it re slabbed. I worry about the sig being lifted from the book even a little bit. Its been pressed against the plastic for years.
  10. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time! This is awesome and I will save/use it.
  11. I don't own any but am interested in collecting them all. Can someone educate me on the series and how much it may cost me to build a complete collection in NM condition. Key variants or crossovers included please Thanks I'm advance!
  12. Cool, cool. I'm probably leaning toward a Spidey 300 signed by McFarlane. Would a book like that be better off having only his sig? I kind of want one with him and the writer.
  13. I'm looking to add a signature series book to my collection. I've never owned one. I'm thinking McFarlane. I've seen some cool ones on ebay. Many of them have multiple sigs. What do you prefer? A book with one sig or is it the more the merrier? Should I expect to pay more for a book with more than one sig?
  14. TRUTH You can ship out a book to CGC, get home, impregnate your wife and im honestly not convinced the book would come before the baby..
  15. Thats how I feel about it but. One seller actually messaged me back with something along the lines of: "We do not know how to identify Newton Rings." Another one straight up told me to move on and not to purchase any of their slabs if rings were a worry of mine.
  16. It must be awesome to own 40,000 comics but damn...what does an old man do with 40,000 comics when the time comes to let em go? Theres gonna be an Ebay listing for your collection after youre gone from this Earth. The keys will have been weeded out and whats left will be sold in random lots of 30 books for $50. The listing pic will be of hundreds of long boxes stacked to the ceiling in some ran down storage unit...boxes collapsing on each other..
  17. You broke it down better than I could ever have. I guess it boils down to storage space. Like I said earlier, I only own around 50 slabs. I have 3 large, wooden file cabinets in my comic room. I can stack up to 15 slabs in 1 drawer. It works for me.
  18. Gravity? I don't really have a great answer, bro. I just feel better when they lay flat. A slabbed book has a bit more breathing room to collapse over the years. Again, talking out of my rear end here. A bagged and boarded raw book has added stability because they are held up by the other 50-100 books in the box. Imagine having one or two bagged raws standing alone? That wouldn't work out.
  19. I store raw books by themselves. I store my slabs laid flat...no more than 4 to a stack. I know most people have way too many slabs for that but I only own around 50 and I just dont feel comfortable having them standing up for the next 20 or whatever years.
  20. Putting a NM run together and I'm at the roadblock that is #102. I really don't wanna drop $100 on a just decent copy. I'm guessing anyone with a CGC graded copy is sitting on them because the only ones available on Ebay are graded by that other company. I'm not above buying one of them and cracking it but, again, they have pretty hefty price tags. I get that it's got Invincible's preview but is that enough of a reason to blow that big a wad? ...or to even charge the prices that are out there? Is it at least a true first appearance?
  21. You can kinda do both. You can start the auction at your BIN price and possibly still get a couple buyers fighting over it. If it doesn't sell, the auction just starts again.
  22. Honestly, we comic book men are still a pretty honest bunch. There's a lot of wiggle room on Ebay to be extremely devious. Take sports cards collectors. They are some of the most cut throat and shady collectors out there. My buddy sells basketball cards. Multiple times he's been card swapped on Ebay. This is when you own, let's say, a LeBron James rookie card that has a few minor flaws. You go on Ebay and look for the same card in flawless condition. You buy the the flawless card. You get the flawless card. You file a NAD claim with Ebay. You send back your flawed card and keep the flawless card. Hopefully, comic book collectors don't ever sink to that level
  23. Okay so the package that was delivered to CGC In mid June has just been opened and sent for pressing. Meanwhile the book this thread was started for is STILL scheduled for grading. 3 months and counting.
