  1. Longer than that. My last package was delivered in mid June and CGC is just now opening packages delivered the first week of June. 2 months for them to simply acknowledge that they have your valuable collectibles.
  2. In a way this may be a blessing in disguise. With CGC stuck in the mud, I've been able to just focus on buying some awesome raw books for my collection. I'm the past, I stressed about buying raw books because I only wanted copies that would be worthy of being graded. Now I'm kind of settling back into a comfort zone of being happy with VF+ copies of books I need. I'm done buying already slabbed books because 80% of the slabs being sold have Newton rings, inner well scuffs or the book is deformed inside the slab. I must have returned close to 15 slabbed books just this year on Ebay. Sellers could save everyone a lot of time and effort if they'd just be honest about that chit. I messaged one seller asking if his slab had rings or scuffs and he messaged me back...lectured me actually about how rings and scuffs are not defects. Well, I own just under 50 stabbed books and not a Newton ring in sight on any of them. I don't accept them as normal, never will. Return that to the seller. /rant
  3. Interesting. Isnt stacking raw books how spine rolls happen though? What are the other causes of spine roll?
  4. Sellers with a no return policy, especially on Ebay, crack me up. It means absolutely nothing on Ebay...so why bother? It makes you look shady from the get go. You don't have to offer free returns but you should always want a potential buyer to have a sense of security that you're not trying to trap them. The buyer doesn't get to hold and inspect the item before purchase so you already have them at a disadvantage. Find me one online retailer that doesn't accept returns...ill wait. It's bad business. That said, in this case, you cracked the slab...you own it. That's common sense.
  5. What a gorgeous book! CONGRATS! Now the question is...how the he'll did you get it cleaned, pressed, graded and back to your loving arms in less than 5 months? 😆
  6. I bought this recently and I'm trying to decide if I slide it into my collection or return it. It's Spidey Unlimited 1 ... 9.6 Maximum Carnage It presents nicely from the front. No Newton rings and only a couple tiny scuffs inside the slab but upon further inspection I noticed that the pages have a nasty looking wave to them The bottom corner of the opening side of the book is also puffed up a bit and not flat inside the slab. My question is...is it the result of the stabbing process or is it common to this book and maybe something that could be pressed out to possibly bump it to a 9.8? The book looks flawless but for the waves. Thanks for taking the time
  7. I freed 6 copies of X Force 1 from the bags and the cover colors are so sharp and bright...they look magnificent. The only one I left bagged has a Deadpool card in it. I figure the card is more valuable than the book and folks are paying a decent price for sealed w/Deadpool card copies on Ebay.
  8. crappity ! How is that even possible? I guess if they were boxed tightly in stacks long enough before being racked and sold. Damn.
  9. So I went to take it out and realized that the poster is actually protecting the back of the book from the seam. That's awesome! I'm gonna leave it sealed. I did go through my collection and remove all the other bags. Yeah, the seam has left light creases on all the back covers. I'm glad I removed my Spidey #1 after I bought it. It looks like a 9.6 at least. What were they thinking when they came up with this idea?...and do they still do this?
  10. I imagine people are sending in literally hundreds of books at a time...mostly New releases too. I don't think this was the original purpose of CGC but the $$$ is pouring in and they've lost their way a bit. They should split into two divisions. There should be one division for the greedy Ebayer who wants his 50 copies of Negan Lives 1 graded.
  11. Love, love, love Portacio! I don't care what the "get off my lawn" generation says...the 90s had the best artwork ever.
  12. I recently bought one that looks magnificent through the bag. I don't plan on getting it graded and I own a readers copy. I'm just worried about leaving it in that bag for the next couple of decades. Is it best to leave it in the bag forever? It's been in there for a loooong time already so probably whatever damage can be done, has already been done...no? Thanks.
  13. I posted this book in the "spare a grade" section. Would the bottom if the spine be considered production related? The book looks pretty flawless other than that. Thanks for taking a look!
  14. I remember my first graded book...it was so perfect. I was so excited, so innocent. I thought they'd all be perfect. And then as I bought more. i learned what a Newton ring was and saw my first inner well scuffing. and then there was the tiny specs of paper trapped in the case. Now I'm just happy if I get one without N rings.
  15. I don't send in a ton of books but I'm starting to get really turned off by the wait times. I've watched office buildings go up from the foundation to the flag pole in less time than it takes to get a comic book graded. CGC should be open 24 hours a day with all this business. Pay the overtime and get caught up already. I have 4 books that were delivered to CGC In May...MAY...and they haven't even opened the box yet. Just...lol
  16. I probably shouldn't stick my nose in here but I will anyway. If you did this "work" yourself, shouldn't you attach a note along with the submission listing what you know has been done to the book?
  17. I'll admit I enjoy great art even if the story is bad. I loved Silvestri. Lee and Portacio's art.
  18. So frustrating. It's like time traveling back to 1980 and ordering sea monkeys or x ray glasses through the mail.
