  3. I’ll be looking to do a clean and press. Thanks in advance for the grade 😊
  4. Thanks everyone, fingers crossed on a high grade
  5. Posted last year and the guesses were 8.0 to 9.0 with a few users saying a 9.2 after a C&P, which I did have done. I'll post the final grade tonight.
  6. There were a handful of responses after I posted this laste year, grades were from 8.5 to 9.0. I'll post the final grade tonight. I did have a press done to the book.
  7. Just wanted to update you all, I received my books today. Last Thursday and Friday, the 21st and 22nd of April, the 3 submissions of 20 books each went from "Certified Guaranty Company" to "Shipped". Not bad, just about 20 working days from the initial post until they were shipped. I was thinking I'd be eating watermelon and holding a sparkler by the time they arrived. For anyone who is interested, the three submissions were checked in on 1/13/23, then I was billed 3/23/22 I received a charge from "Certified Guaranty Company". They books were then shipped on 4/20 and 4/21 from Sarasota, arrived here in southern Maine this morning on 4/25. Roughly 70 business days, not too shabby. Biggest book was an X-Men 107, which I bought on E-bay in raw form for $100, came back at a 9.4, with graders notes "small crease left center of back cover". Biggest kick in the nuts was Amazing Heroes 45 (first reported TMNT), came back as a 8.5 due to "slight staining to cover". Looked so much better than that. Still looking for this "small crease left center of back cover"...oh well can't complain about a 9.4
  8. Hi Ninja, I submitted books twice, last year and this year. Last year I didn't get charged until the books were being graded or shortly before. This year it was 2 months after almost to the day when they logged the books into their system., back in early March (books were received 1/13/22). This week they moved to encapsulating, which I think based on my last batch they went to quality control shortly thereafter and then shipped. I'm still pretty new to the process so it could be longer, not really sure. I read on the "Ask CGC" forum that it could be almost immediately when you are billed. Once the books are checked in the invoice goes to Accounting for payment processing, at least that is what the CGC employee from customer service posted. That wasn't the experience I had the first time or this last time so it appears that it is a bit subjective based on the day of the week.
  9. Just checked on my 3 submissions of 20 modern books each and the status has changed in the last week. Two of them were set to "Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging". Thinking I've got to be getting closer to quality control and shipped. Anyone have recent feedback on a time frame once it is in this status before they can see their grades online? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi Mosh, last time I purchased something online I had the option to pick it up same day, Amazon or Walmart for example. That or it was stated prior to my purchase when I would receive said item, normally 48 to 72 hours later. Nice try on the swerve.
  11. On a positive note Wes B, you are helping CGC's cash flow by paying months ahead of the service being completed. Generally this practice is not common paying for a service upfront, but its perfectly legal. The vast amount of business don't operate this way, say when you pay for new tires or a haircut. The reason here is that there is competition in these other markets and demand that isn't off the charts. You probably have a dozen different tire stores in a 10 mile radius of where you live and dollars to doughnuts none of them charge you until those tires are in your possession. Thing is CGC operates in a niche marketplace and while they are not a monopoly, i.e. CBCS, etc. they enjoy an extremely high demand for their services. Until the buyers of CGC services demand change, CGC will continue to charge the full amount before the service is rendered.
  12. Hello all, Second submission to CGC, submitted last 60 modern books last fall. On 3/23/22 I received a charge from "Certified Guaranty Company" for $1,260.00 (60 books at $21 each). Based on my first submission, the actual grading followed the credit card charge shortly thereafter, or so I remember. Using my last submission as a baseline, I'm thinking it will be a matter of days, weeks and I'll have graded books on their way back home. What say the community? Am I hopelessly optimistic or should I get the champagne chilling. Thank you in advance for any and all feedback.
  13. Hoping the dirt on the cover comes off with a cleaning. Thank you in advance for the feedback.
  14. Looking t get a C & P, thanks in advance for your feedback.
  15. I’ll be having my pressing guy give a C&P. Thank you in advance 😊

  17. Hi Axe, I added two more pics of where you pointed out that crease. I don’t know what this is called in the comic book world, a scrunch perhaps, as if the paper was pushed together to make that line. Around pic #9 in the original pics that I posted you can see the back page, which is exactly the same as the front less the Gold Key, $.25 cents and other writing. It confused me when I first looked at it
  18. From 1962. Definitely getting a C & P, looks like a press will help more of the two. Thank you in advance. 😉
