Move your pointer over someone's name by their avatar. A popup box comes up and one of the options is 'ignore'.
I'm almost at 100.
Dang, that was easy. This is only my second!

Put people on ignore. You zip right past.
Of course, if someone nests your comment, everyone can see it. I've had you on ignore for a while, but this one got nested.
How do I put 'certain people' on ignore? Not able to figure it out, embarrassingly ...

Depends on how much they depend on scammers for their business
Very salient point...

Because any security measure expensive enough to significantly increase the fees to slab comics could result in CGC losing business.
Surely it would improve their business if ethical customers could be assured of getting a tamper-proof product. Sure, their scammer clientele might begin to drop off.

Many actually. I am not being facetious here. I know a few collector friends that early on taught me never to use my full name with any collectibles for a multitude of reasons.
I know a few friends that if you search their name and the terms "collectibles", "comics", "toys", or anything like that, then the search will not yield anything. They also have amazing collections that no one knows about and that is one of the ways that they keep it that way.
Me too. Hint: I am not really Hispanic.

Maybe putting a sticker on it will make it better?
Nah, any kind of anti-tampering methodology would be 'a waste of time' evidently. Putting you on ignore mode now... once I figure out how.

Laser etching would do the trick. Cheap, fast, and if set up correctly would have no effect on the book.
Problem there is laser etching devices can be obtained quite cheaply.

Maybe cgc can add a notation on the cert# to say if/when a book was reholdered.
They definitely should do that. It's a significant event in the book's aftermarket history.

Anyone who currently owns any ID'ed book in this thread should NOT open the case without witnesses and video tape rolling..
I would suggest keeping the audio recording volume down too, in the event of any ensuing howls and/or screaming.

Just try to think logically: It is highly likely the auction houses and big dealers are co-operating on this front.

I don't believe a "moderator" has made single comment in this thread to date. At least no official CGC moderator has. Might have been some self-appointed moderator. I must have skipped a page.
Yes, I was referring to the self-appointed moderator.

You've even admitted that to me via text and ELSEWHERE that you will be purposefully targeting me. jsilverjanet did too.
You started targeting me when I reported you for a bad post and told you that I didn't approve of what you said.
Several others have been taking mild swipes in this thread at me as well (thothamon, GetMarwood etc). I genuinely don't care. It doesn't even register on my radar. It's just extra posts to work through to be able to get back on track and dealing with real discussions on here that matter.
If you people really cared about the community you'd stop with all the nonsense, but it's this sort of behavior that gets threads locked.
I simply replied to your post on tape because it was WRONG. Nothing more.
I'm going to take a break from this thread to lower the heat a little, not because I want to, but just so this thread doesn't get locked.
This is all very off topic, especially for someone who likes to point out when things are off topic. Could you start a new thread called 'Feeling extremely butthurt right now' perhaps?

Now I just went to public grade schools so maybe the education you received (at say Upper Canada College) was more advanced but I’m pretty sure saying someone stated something out of ignorance is exactly the same thing as calling them ignorant. What am I missing?
You're 100% right, sir. Words and concepts have specific meanings for a reason. Perhaps our "moderator" needs to be moderated.

Actually, just over 8 billion humans on the planet. I wonder what year it was that we overtook the rat count. Certainly they must have had the lead for a long time.
Maybe one day they'll be using us in lab experiments.

Ten bucks says CGC's official response will be to put new certs on all reholders.
I suggested they put hologram stickers on all 4 edges but the moderator said that would be a 'waste of time'. I still wonder why he would say such a thing.

I am joking obviously, but it would be a nice slice of karma if the buyer sent briva3 back a different book
Doing that to a known scammer would be 100% justified.
