  1. Let me guess - you were just as "friendly" over the phone as you were in this post, right? Btw, tone/mood cannot be interpreted over text, at least not without exclamation points or caps lock. Therefore your comment is ridiculous as it is impossible for you to interpret my "written voice" but thanks for playing. That's not true.
  2. Marty. Your collection is very cool. You seem to have a bit of everything. Did you have a focus when you were buying?
  3. It is not just me that "knows"/is of the opinion the aa16 resell is not "real", many do. But it is not for me to publicly expand on. I believe both batman 1 and Tec 31 would perform better today at auction than an aa16 (and maybe whiz 2 too) and I believe both could be privately sold for more (thumbs u Can someone link past discussion on this?
  4. Great sale of a great book. How many 9.6s are there? I know Jim Halperin has one and I cant see him selling anytime soon.
  5. But I guess that isn't surprising. It is a great book.
  6. When you are ready to sell, I will happily buy. Well done sir. Looks like he just sold it: CSS #22 on ComicLink THAT WAS FAST!
  7. ASM 136 is my favorite cover, in my favorite era with my favorite character.
  8. Sharp copy Bob, congrats!!! (thumbs u Bob is not getting nearly enough love for this gorgeous book!!!!! I agree. Good colors, great centering, a very very nice book!!
  9. I just finished Notes from Underground by Dostoevsky. It was very good. Funny but also sad. I am now trying to read: Philosophical Analysis in the Twentieth Century vol 1 by Soames. It is also very good. A very clear explanation of some topics I find difficult. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn some analytic philosophy. The opening chapter which explains Moore's refutation of the radical sckeptic might help anyone who is in the grips of nihilism as I know that can be very depressing. I have also resolved to finally finish Joyce's Ulysses but that probably won't happen.
  10. welcome to Hammertown. the first submission is always a whipping. MY "9.8" Hulk 102 came back 8.5 - i remember it fondly My first sub was an ASM 129. Had it pegged at 9.0 it received a 9.2. Mine was X-Men #50 vol 1- Expected 9.2/9.4 and got 9.6 But we are both in the cgc clique so it doesn't count.

  12. Wow that is slow for a mft. And here I was hoping to get mine back this week.
  13. I know nothing of OA and hardly ever read older books so forgive me if this is a stupid question. But is that some OA from the 1976 Eternals series? I like it a lot.
  14. Ooooh, good point. Perhaps we should also debate the relative longevity of the Rolling Stones compared to Vanilla Ice?
  15. I think the tv series sucks already. I tried to keep watching but couldn't make it. I read to issue 97 with the comics which was also painful.
  16. After you get berated for the 100,000th time regarding TAT's that you have no control over, how much empathy would you have? Honestly, thats not my problem. then find another job. It's ok for them to be jaded? I understand that there are unreasonable peopl out there who probably flip out for no reason, but that doesn't mean they should treat everyone the same. If i'm paying you for a job, then do your job, don't act like a jerk because the 5 people before me were jerks. Like I said, I'd just like to sense that they care, maybe then the long delay's wouldn't be so bad. Next time I am in Sarasota, I will tell them to put on a smiley face when you call. Better yet, tell them to stop taking submissions until the TATs are back within reason. (thumbs u Seems like a reasonable request. I'll relay your thoughts when I am at CGC next week. Mr. Sarcastic?
  17. How do you see who popped the BIN? I don't think it shows you.... As for the other keys, and I am just grabbing the first few I see.... #19 - 9.8 $615 http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-19-First-Printing-CGC-9-8-NM-M-First-Appearance-of-Michonne-/350755976786?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item51aaaf7652 #19 - 9.8 $486 http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-19-First-Print-CGC-9-8-White-Pages-Low-Reserve-/281083210767?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4171dd6c0f #27 - 9.8 $343 http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-WALKING-DEAD-27-CGC-9-8-Mint-1ST-PRINT-KIRKMAN-IMAGE-NO-RESERVE-/330900707090?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4d0b381712 #27 - 9.8 $325 http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-27-First-Printing-CGC-9-8-NM-M-First-Governor-/221208531861?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item33810e5395 A year ago Walking Dead #19 CGC 9.8s averaged $800,while Walking Dead #27 9.8 CGSs averaged $500. The keeper is Walking Dead #1. It is a low print run,and ushered in a new age of modern comics. Walking Dead CGC 9.8 #1 is worth more than an oz of gold now if you think about it. good comparison. When I first started this thread I had three seperate people tell me to take medium/long term positions in gold. I sunk that money into comics instead. Very happy with my decision.
  18. It is good to bump to threads, I creates continuity. Issue one seems to be holding ground. What about the non keys?
  19. Also doesn't it have to be 'A VERY small amount of ct/glue' to get blue on a GA book?
  20. Always has been as far as I know. It is for SA books I think.
