  1. I think if there were odds (and there probably are) Rey being his kid would be the favorite.

I think if the film is trying to lead anyone in any direction it is that one, and it wouldn't bother me because when I consider all of the other ones (excluding he is her uncle, which mean and Han and Leia had another kid roughly 10 years after Kylo and lost her in that time - as there is simply no way they are twins, Rey is obviously very young) are a bit farfetched when I try to consider explaining it in a film, especially when it seems pretty clear they are trying to run away from a lot of the stuff from the prequels (midicholorians etc).

I would add that since we already have Star Wars back and it's already one of the biggest movies of all time, maybe Rian Johnson has a little more room to do his thing.

I just thing that we have been told several time that the saga films are about the Skywalkers, and while I understand Kylo is one too, he is IMHO not redeemable. The guy killed Han Solo.

I know, I know, Vader redeemed himself but we all kind of just accept that, and that the good guys won in RotJ, but we don't really, I think, accept that he's a swell dude and everything is forgotten after decades of mass murdering, not to mention butchering a school of kids etc. He died, we didn't call it even, but he was dead, so what could we do?

I just don't think moviegoers are going to buy a redemption of Kylo that involves a continuation of his life and perpetuation in even more trilogies.

I do admit there is definitely something interesting taking a Rey, who seems to come out of this universally loved, and playing with the dark with her, giving us a turn that didn't offend us while it occurred (prequels) with a character and actor most seem to like right now, but I'm just trying to figure out how a Skywalker ends up out of this that Disney is going sell massive amounts of toys on for the rest of our lives. And I don't mean that as a negative because that's exactly what Lucas did with both previous trilogies.

  2. Sometimes an ignore isn't anything personal. I've put people on ignore when their sig line is the size of Nebraska, or has enough flashing animated gifs to induce a seizure, etc.

I don't want to block ALL siglines, so that doesn't leave a ton of options.

Oh yeah, this. I'd be good with never seeing a sig line again, minus something of function like people linking kudos threads if that is their thing.

  3. Being not really a prolific poster, this information probably has little value but I don't typically block people who disagree with me about frivolous things (comics, artists, the comic market etc), but I do find myself blocking a lot of people and it's not something I think much about, I see it, and I block.

Mostly I block people who have and share what I view as deplorable views, and find ways to strongly showcase them on what are mostly comic book forums (I do not participate in the other venues). That isn't to say those people might not have good or even the best information, but I use the forums as recreation and I wouldn't hang out with someone of that nature by choice outside of these forums, and choose not to deal with them to the extent I can online. I just don't like being associated with it.

I've only blocked one person for other reasons, though even they sometimes say dumb things, but it's mostly because they post A LOT and never say anything, repeatedly, and it's just a waste of time. It's totally innocent, not personal, it's just the post/thought ratio is hovering around zero yet people still seem to entertain them as if they were some kind of mascot or pet lol.

  4. Yeah I was just pointing it out because maybe someone had some there, I do recall Orange being mentioned.

I'd second One Piece, it's my favorite comic, but maybe Fruit Baskets is a better fit. Don't get Tokyo Ghoul because that's pretty R.

You could pick up Miyazaki's Nausicaä, especially if she is into art because he's a master.

  5. I'm guessing a lot of people might care or he wouldn't address it, and given how passionate people are here for old pieces of paper that most of the world don't care about, I think we can understand how much something like Star Wars would mean to some and I think this is cool move by Mark to let people know perhaps the biggest thing in pop culture doesn't necessarilly have a straight hero or can embody all. I don't get any pushback.,

Non-issue to me, but can't see how anyone could view his comments as a negative or threatening.

  6. On the flip side, I've never had any affection for any Marvel animated project minus Big Hero 6 which is the loosest of loose being Marvel related.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Wolverine and the X-Men series. It had plot-continuity from E1 right through the final episode. Binge-watching probably helped the story line gel. Might give that one a shot.

And Planet Hulk was enjoyable as a 'Heavy Metal' space fantasy. Just don't expect him to revert to Bruce Banner. For some odd reason the left that element of the Hulk-mythos out. I kept waiting...and...never happened.

Planet Hulk is my favorite Hulk story ever in the comic, I'm good with no Banner.

  7. That's no doubt. Growing up a Marvel fan who easily went into Valiant all kinds of Image titles, Cerebus, Bone, Vertigo, etc DC was never anything I had interest in or held my attention in comics (maybe until Identity Crisis - though I do recall buying and enjoying Sword of Azrael and Vengeance of Bane when they came out), but the animation almost instantly spoke to me.

DC animation gets me hype for Aqualad, or Chesire, or had me all in on Big Barda. I finally understood why Vandal Savage was a badass and there are some episodes that are legit emotional like "Epilogue", where that Ace story just got me.

I could not give the slightest mess about the Teen Titans (sorry Perez and Wolfman fans) but man I was all in on Young Justice from jump.

I'm not too into the new52 offerings though.
