  1. It depends on the size of the ding and exactly what it is. Isn't something smaller than 1/16th of an inch generally just considered manufacturing and disregarded if it's a small bindery tear? But yeah if everything else is sharp then a small bindery issue wouldn't keep it from being NM if it's small enough...
  2. I'm not a DC speculator either. This just feels good to me and that's probably a bad sign Certainly there hasn't been anywhere near as much action on the DC front in terms of speculation but that probably presents buying opportunities for folks that know DC. But you have to have some faith that they will get their TV and film stuff right to draw in the casual audiences that have been boosting Marvel books... they're giving it a lot of effort and I like the volume of stuff they're trying... some of it has to hit, right? I mean HBO puts out a lot of quality stuff, that partnership has to help things, right? Hard to say but for some reason I love Yara Flor regardless of all of that
  3. I've got maybe a dozen of those raw. I don't know what to think about the trend of people valuing previews so much... not sure if it's durable. But I have a lot of 9.8 candidates if it turns out that it is.
  4. I'm not a fan of JSC either. Just don't get it but to each their own. I think DC has big plans for Yara. She already has a CW show in the works - don't laugh they appear to be taking their television properties more seriously with HBO Max - and they look like they're putting some weight behind her solo series at least initially. We'll see how long it lasts. Until this drops I don't read any DC besides Batman though so maybe I'm part of the problem
  5. Yeah, she's funny and I hope we see a little more of what her anger problems costs her in the upcoming run. I'm not very familiar with Jones but if I like this run I'll explore her other work. I am mostly captivated by the Grampa cover. I know JSC is very popular but I am pretty ambivalent about his cover. I may try and get the full set of covers for this book though. Haven't made up my mind on the 1:25 or the 1:50... I'm usually not one for incentive variants.
  6. I think both of the Frison covers are great and I have I think 3 copies of each for issues 1 and 2... but I have... substantially more copies of Cover A, 2nd print Cover A, and I ordered 15 copies of Wonder Girl 1 Cover A to go along with a couple copies of the spot foil variant. Think that spot foil variant could be the big Yara book but we'll see. I'm genuinely excited about the story too. I hope Joelle Jones can give Yara a compelling rogues gallery during her run.
  7. DM7 looks clearer to me, you? And while I like both of those I do think FFWW1 will be the book for Yara. At least that's the one I bet on biggest
  8. My Future State Wonder Woman stash is going to pay off like that for me in another couple years. I hope
  9. At that store or in general? I find that right now the market moves so fast that there are deals hanging out all over the place, especially online but in local shops too. I don't believe the hype around X-Men #161 will last fwiw but I have already bought five or six copies under $10 in the last week and I've already sold two for $30 each. Stuff like that is not getting repriced at the rate the market is moving if you're quick. Secret Wars #3 heating up out of nowhere is another example, though yeah some shops do stay more on top of their moderns at least. I found a copy of Mortal Kombat II Collector's Edition in decent FN+ shape for $2.99 just a week or so ago. I may've missed the boat to sell that for max profits but I think I can get maybe $150 for it? And that was in a local shop so there's still plenty of stuff lurking out there with how fast random stuff has been heating up. IMO video game comics continue to be an area of opportunity if you can find them in high grade. They're almost always low print.
  10. I hope y'all are right. I'll be subbing this to my LCS to be pressed, cleaned, and graded in a week or so after another big book I'm waiting on gets here. I got a really, really, really good deal on this book and I bought it because the cover is sweet as all get out but with the way this book is moving up I may have to use this to close one of the last gaps in my ASM collection. Hopefully I can figure out a way to keep it before it comes back
  11. Hope you were buying 361's when you said this but... no. IMO ofc. Venom has become a big anti-hero which is why he can anchor a franchise. They could never redeem Carnage enough to do that. Hero 1st apps >>>>>>> villain 1st apps with few exceptions. Venom's on fire because Cates finally made the anti-hero stuff that Marvel has been trying to force since the 90's make sense and people accept Venom as a hero now. IMO Carnage can't ever get there with his origin and backstory, but he does have an awesome design and can be a more popular villain than he has been. Doesn't have close to ASM 300's ceiling because of the hero vs villain 1st app thing IMO
  12. Very interesting. I do think we'll see the market recalibrate and start to value 9.6's and 9.4's a lot more if CGC is really tightening up their grading as rumored
  13. She's a cool character with a great design, don't think it'd take much to get her to pop again and she's a great candidate for Supergirl or Superman... fun villain even if that doesn't happen though
  14. Kraven really always seemed like a Spidey villain that would be a more natural fit for other heroes in the Marvel universe, like Tombstone and Kingpin becoming primarily Daredevil antagonists eventually. Not that I don't like Spidey/Gangster stories whenever possible but...
  15. Stan Lee's end of life saga seemed to be pretty sad and to be honest I suspect elder abuse. I want a signed book from him but when I look through listings I get really sad when I see the ones that note a book was signed on Stan's 92nd or 93rd birthday. People are so greedy it makes me sick
